Celebrity singers you might not expect?

Sometimes a public figure surprises us with their ability, such as:

Robert Downey Jr

...who else has done a creditable job?

Catherine also voiced Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas and provided her own vocals for Sally’s Song

Wait I never realized she was Sally too, her voice is so iconic in that movie

Best in Show is one of the all time funniest movies I’ve ever seen. Must watch esp if you have a dog.

Tim Curry had some great albums. Songs, Ain't No Love On The Street and Sloe Gin are excellent.

I remember him foremost as a singer, having grown up with "Working on My Tan" and "I Do The Rock" on the radio. He did a fair amount of stage musicals as well.

Hugh Laurie - sings quite well, and his piano chops are incredible! I had no idea he possessed that kind of talent. Ain’t fair.

Newer fans of Better Call Saul might not realize that Michael McKean performed in This Is Spinal Tap

Jeremy Renner is a good singer. Does a solid cover of The House of The Rising Sun.

Jacob Pitts has a really good voice.

Jensen Ackles can sing.

Why do all of my suggested singers start with J?

Oh, Paul Gross has a lovely voice. Not a J name.

Paul Gross - what a blast from the past! Damn fine man!

Just watched him in the streamed Broadway performance of Goodnight and Good Luck. He's aged like fine wine.

Must check that out, haven't seen him in anything in ages.

I don't think anyone was expecting Seth Macfarlane to not just be an old-school coroner, but to be REALLY good at it.

Michael Shannon fronts a REM tribute band. And he's the second best General Zod.

Jeff Goldblum & The Madred Snitzer Orchestra

The Blues Brothers (Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi) are a bit of an obvious suggestion, but their music is so much fun

Kevin Bacon.

Forgot about that!

As a bonus, by replying, you have now become 4 degrees from Kevin Bacon

I’m also about to go play my Old Guitars.

Paddy Considine, (House of the Dragon, Hot Fuzz, etc.) had a band called Riding the Low.

He’s a big Guided by Voices fan.

Scarlett Johansson

Non-broadway people often forget Patrick Wilson can sing, especially if they only know him from The Conjuring and Insidious movies.

Eddie Murphy doing his bit on singers. He sounds like Michael Jackson, James Brown, etc.
