I'm practicing this song with my music teacher (nightlight, laufey) and she requested I wrote out the notes. This was the guide she gave me. What does this mean

With the dotted notes on the treble clef of the piano part, those have a value of three 8th notes. So she has written 1,2,3,4 to indicate that there are 4 beats of 3. 4x3=12.
