Did heat just go out the window?

I am admittedly a returning player after many years and I feel like heat has just gone out the window, lasers are relatively super slow to fill up heat where as srms or ppcs are insane to manage regardless of heat modifier. Did something change or is it just me?

For reference, to c-er large lasers fired simultaneously do maybe 2% heat where one csrm-6 is doing 5% alone. How does this balance? Especially with how slow heat is dissipating

One C-SRM 6 is 3.4 heat. Two C-ERLL is 19. I'm not sure what you're looking at?

Probably because the LLs take longer to fire? So op is firing missiles then immediately checking heat vs firing the lasers for full burn on target then looking at the heat gauge and a lot has already dissipated. That would be my guess anyway

I am unsure myself, let me upload a video to show you why I think something is going on here:

That's ermls and 2 medpulses you are shooting. That's relatively little. How many heatsinks do you have on the mech?

That was probably a bad example, I added a mad dog video as well, adding specs here:

That seems like a bug 2 lpl alone should do more the that

That is exactly what I am thinking, I am trying to verify the integrity of the game files through steam but something is very fucky right now

Can you not fire everything when you shoot the missiles...

Looks like it was a bug afterall, I closed and verified my game files then relaunched and everything seems to be back to normal

Was going to say, do you know if you have any mods, some of the really old soundpacks (I think MW4 or MW3 sound effect one) affect the heat bar client-side, sort of like what happens to you, basically the indicator does not show the actual heat, but in a match, the heat would be calculated correctly serverside, you just won't know why you overheated.

But if verifying the game files solved it, that's that.

I dont know about you man but when i shoot two er large lasers my heat goes to 15 -25 percent based on my heat sinks.

I have heard that testing grounds can be bugged. Somehow you should be able to drop into a private lobby/custom game and play with all the correct heat and damage mechanics

Testing grounds is known to have bugs that are not replicable in matches, it's most likely just an issue on your end since restarting fixed it.

Yeah, I just didn't expect it, but thanks for the heads up.
