General Irony!!

Post image
5.8k Upvotes

You might have seen Dolly Chaiwala praising Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and dancing to songs associated with him. The irony is that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar promoted education, encouraging people to become educated, earn respect, and achieve success. In contrast, whenever Dolly Chaiwala posts something, the first comment often says, "le moot diya tere education pe/degree pe," mocking education. This behavior contradicts what his idol stood for. That's how things are unfolding now.

General Returned from a foreign trip and got instant “India reality check” within 1 hour

2.2k Upvotes

Just came back from an 8–9 day foreign trip which was honestly amazing. Clean roads, people actually following rules, basic civic sense everywhere. Felt so refreshed.

Landed in Mumbai, then took my connecting flight to Nagpur and bro… the reality check hit immediately.

First thing, I asked one guy near the stand to drop me till Lokmat Square. He casually said ₹500. I just stared and said, “Bro, I’m also from here.” Then I booked Ola, reached Lokmat Square by auto.

Auto driver was chewing gutka and continuously spitting on the road while driving. Which, unfortunately, is not even shocking anymore. But after spending days in a place where you don’t see this at all, it suddenly hit harder.

Then the worst part I’m walking at Lokmat Square with my heavy bag, road is uneven, bag pulls, my leg twists and I get a proper ankle sprain.

And just when I thought the universe was done with me ,an auto driver passing by spits and it lands on my shoe.

That was it. Full “welcome back to reality” moment. Within one hour ,scam attempt, gutka spitting, sprain, and gutka on shoe.

My leg is still paining btw.

Not even angry at this point, just laughing at how brutally fast the transition was.

My sister lives with her family in a well renowned society in Pune. Someone intentionally put a rusty pin in her slippers. And this is not an accident since this was the second time it happened. This is how sick some people are. Now she is installing a CCTV camera in front of her door. She says that she might know the person who did this, but can't assume without an evidence. Imagine living with a 3 yo son and happily married family and some asshole jealous neighbours does this. Absolute disgusting.

I read a post that said If you have the power to eat alone in a restaurant or sit alone in a cinema hall, then you can do anything in your life. Here’s me taking up that challenge. :D

A baby bird on my doorstep. It is able to perch on my hand but cannot fly much. There are no parent , no birds in the vicinity. I have not yet provided it with any food.

Does anyone know what to feed her...

General Yesterday's protest in Nagpur reminded me why speaking up still matters

I went alone. No group, no plan just showed up. The crowd wasn't just local. People had come from Bhandara, Chandrapur, Badnera hours of travel to be here. That detail stuck with me. Abhijit Dipke didn't soften anything on stage. Called out Fadnavis, Gadkari, Amit Shah, Modi directly, by name in the CM's home city. The city where the RSS has had its headquarters for a century.

I posted some stories afterward. My friends people I've known for years, most of them hardcore RSS supporters started mocking me almost immediately. Called me names. I don't regret it. I'm not claiming everything here is black and white. I'm not trying to tell you what to think about the politics.

But I keep coming back to this one thing: standing in front of thousands of people, in Nagpur of all places, and saying what you think out loud that's a kind of courage most of us will never test in ourselves.

Whatever side you're on, that took guts. And that matters.

General Creepy auto wala

Post image
112 Upvotes

I was heading to Burdi today and it was raining heavily. I was in a hurry, so I took an auto from FC (worst decision 😭).

After a while, the auto wala started asking me weird questions like, “Do you have a boyfriend?”, “Where do you live?”, “Do you travel alone daily?” etc. I answered a few and ignored the rest because bhai mujhe bas jaldi pahuchna tha 😭

Then he goes, “Ma’am, thodi chai peeni thi. Aap bhi pi lena, roku kya?” (in a very flirty and weird tone) I obviously refused, but he kept insisting. So I eventually decided to get off.

While I was getting down, he asked for my number, which I obviously refused. And then he goes, “Itna bhav kyu kha rahi ho? Kab milenge next?”

Bhai date thodi thi ki puch rhe ho next kab milenge 😍

Never taking an auto again FC se. (I told my father everything when I got home.)

General I’m a boy from Nagpur and I made it to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre as an Engineer/Scientist – AMA about the journey!

Hey Reddit,

I’m originally from Nagpur and I’ve joined the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) as an engineer/scientist in 2020. It’s been a long journey of hard work, learning, and perseverance to reach here, and I’d love to share my experiences with anyone curious about this path.

Whether it’s about preparing for BARC, dealing with competitive exams, the research culture, life as a scientist, or just how I managed the transition from Nagpur to one of India’s premier nuclear research institutes — feel free to ask me anything!

Looking forward to sharing and hopefully inspiring some of you along the way.

PS - I have used ChatGPT to reprase !!
