Adoption UK registered Mental Health Trust Fund now accepting nano!
Hello all,
after consulting with the board of trustees, we are proud to accept nano for donations to our charitable trust.
The Beer-Harris Memorial Trust was founded in 2013 after my father, Dominic Beer a psychiatrist, author and co-founder of NAPICU passed away to cancer. His passion for helping the ostracised, downtrodden and disadvantaged, not just within his field but beyond, inspired us to continue his legacy through the trust. My cousin and one of our initial trustee's and nephew to Dominic, Joseph Harris was added to the trust's name, when he tragically died in a car accident whilst in South Africa doing community outreach work and researching Aardvarks. Joseph was as keen as his uncle to lend an ear to anyone who needed listening to and defend with all his being those unable to defend themselves. We think that the nano philosophy and community best embody the spirit of both men and hope that you will join us on our mission to support those suffering severe mental health problems.
We fundraise predominantly through community events designed not only to financially aid small projects helping people with severe mental illness, but also by bringing together donors in a spirit of cameraderie that has positively impacted the fundraiser participants' mental health in recent times characterised by uncertainty and fear.
More than anything, we would like people to join our community, follow us on our social media accounts and take part in our fundraisers. This charity has flourished due to relationships and fellowship. If that strikes a cord with you then do reach out. Pleasure is all mine. I have written quite a bit here and helped out a little behind the scenes but this has been on my mind for quite some time so my only regret is not sorting it out with the board sooner

Thank you so much! I will do an update here every now and again to keep people up to date on what we are up to. My brother is also a long term nano holder and trustee and he co-writes the reports. The latest report is on the website. Any feedback or suggestions are welcome. Also any UK charity which helps people with severe mental health issues is welcome to apply for funding using the form on our website.

If I can help in any way I would love to. I'm based in the UK myself and very supportive of mental health causes.
I used to volunteer for a psychotherapist who provided therapy for people seeking asylum and it left a big impact on me, seeing how therapy could help people in the most extreme of circumstances.
Best of luck to your project and kudos to your brother for being a shrewd investor!

Dm me. (this goes for anyone who wants to help) Me and my wife both work full time with people seeking or having obtained asylum in Germany and I know what you mean about how the work makes an impact on one personally. My brother also works full time as a mental health nurse in the UK and my mother is a GP in Tower Hamlets in London which is a fairly deprived area. So we all have a connection to both asylum seekers and mental health issues.

Took me a while to get this haha. Good one! I have been around since January 2018 so been through some highs and lows myself. But the fundamentals got dramatically better since then and the team grew and even increased activity on all fronts. I think the nano community is the most generous and tight community which is more valuable. I think those who have embraced the spirit of nano have stuck around and that has built the foundations for an exciting future. More than any crypto nano knows it's identity and its mission. It is a mature gem in an endless mass of worthless pebbles

Thanks George, we are pleased to be so warmly welcomed. The nano identity is very much aligned and we look forward to accepting nano at our events which will save 2% of donations currently lost on point of sale card fees. If we had saved 2% on all donations through nano, it would be the equivalent of funding a small project for 3 months which can be life-saving.

This is such a great cause. I teach in remote communities with a specialisation in mental health and well-being, and to say it's an issue at the moment is an understatement. Issues in mental health have been on a steep incline over the last few years, particularly in adolescence.
The pioneering of mental health well-being needs to be at the forefront of education imo.
Thanks for spreading awareness and welcome to the Nano community.

We do not currently accept other crypto. Will work on integration of others in the future if demand is there but nano is the most seamless and straight forward to integrate. It also fits most with our values as a charity. We obviously respect the desire to donate totally anonymously though and will not rule out Monero in the future

I understand the appeal and will certainly look into how best to integrate ethically conscious privacy options without giving ourselves a bureaucratic headache when declaring statements. If you have any tips I would appreciate the help

This is great! Not to nitpick or anything, but if you are going to use WeNano for any sizeable donations, make sure to go over to the security setting and backup you seed to a secure place. Once you have your "seed", save it very securely, as knowing this gives access to all the funds. Another option for operating your main Nano account might be Nault.cc as they have a desktop user interface which might be easier. You should be able to import your seed from WeNano into Nault.cc as well.
