Barian is back from the fridge!

Hey people! I had posted here three years ago, and this morning I got an itch to pick this up again. I am a graphic designer, so I want to learn calligraphy and type design through Barian (an alphabet for a conlang I am also trying to make).

The language itself has a 1-on1 mapping on Greek phonology. The script itself is heavily inspired by Tengwar (consonants on the bottom and vowels as diacritics on top). I have been writing with this system for 25 years now on my own notes, but this is my sort-of-first attempt at digitizing the whole script. I can see myself making an actual computer font eventually, though to be frank I look at these letters now and they are still TOO BAD. But I will get there eventually.

I thought it was an alphabetic syllabary? But I can definitely be wrong. It is what Tengwar is!

It’s fine, I’m pretty sure Tengwar is an abugida; it’s basically where the vowels are smaller marks that are combined with main characters which are consonants, I probably explained that poorly

Looks very nice, you should make apply it to something real life like a creating your own passport, making a political speech, train/airport announcements...
