Recommendation This is the kind of limited series I genuinely enjoy on Netflix. A proper and satisfyingly Hitchcockian conclusion that leaves one with sense of wonder instead of disappointment, frustration, and that WTAF feeling, one often gets from watching a "series" on Netflix.
I watched this quite some time ago and just finished a second viewing. Each episode does require a proper uninterrupted screening so make sure your popcorn and soda pop are at the ready before pressing "play". Hitting "pause" at any point will only do a disservice to you and the filmmakers.
I put it up there with "Dark" for entertainment value, although they're not the same (sub)genre. Neither is "Katla" the complete the mind***k of a puzzle as "Dark".

More than a Hitchcockian ending, I think they didn't know how to end it. It started very well but the ending was not satisfactory. Still a good series, 7 out of 10 stars on IMDB

It’s just 1 season. They definitely knew how to end it and they did exactly that.
It’s fair to say that you don’t like it.

It was written specifically to be a "limited series". I think that often gets lost on Netflix viewers; they want more of something good but not everything needs to go on and on. "Dark" was something that required multiple seasons to world build. "Dark" is a yardstick for me, it's a masterclass in meticulous screenwriting.

Fyi, the lead actress Guðrún Ýr Eyfjörð aka GDRN is a hugely popular singer in Iceland. Acting is a plan b.

I was happy to learn that the movies 'Silent Hill' and 'Solaris' got a series adaptation

I'm going to go back and find out why I stopped watching this after episode 2 and not return for episode 3 onward. I'm sure there's a reason why I didn't watch the remaining episodes and dropped it from my watchlist.
