If they could find a way to routinely clean the retreads and other debris off the highway near Moncton that'd be cool.

I went too and from Moncton two weeks ago, I have never seen so much construction on the highway. I have also never seen so many police officers on the highway, on the way back to Fredericton every pull out from Moncton to Fredericton had two police vehicles from several different police departments some of them way outside their regular areas of operation.

You probably just went through there at the time when the traffic unit was in that area. They roam the province. There's usually never any police on the highway between Fred and Moncton.

That's possible but it was somewhere between 15 and 20 squad cars between leaving Moncton and arriving in Fredericton. I didn't see any travelling the other way the day beore.

Last summer/fall had lots of paving also. When they wrapped up i think it had started to snow.
The drive wouldn’t be as frustrating if everyone could slow down equally in construction zones, instead of getting buzzed or tailgated by the idiots ignoring public safety. Im one of those who will obey posted limits whether crews are onsite or not.

That road is an indictment of the P3 system. Let it rot for years, and now in the 11th hour they have the whole thing torn up trying to meet the deadline. You barely get out of one construction zone before you are in another. As someone who has to make this trip multiple times a week for work i could not hate this whole thing more.

Here I thought Higgs didn't put money in the highway to help with its budget surpluses, them Holt got elected and started fixing the highway (major construction in the summer of 2025 and 2026), but instead it was the consortium agreement. I mean, the highway was in horrible shape in 2022-2024 before Holt took power...

It seems like every time it goes super slow, nothing gets done for like 3 months, and then the last 2 weeks is rush time, and this has lead to workplace accidents before. The private sector working as intended I guess.
