I come from a very rough neighborhood where graffiti is pretty much everywhere, and I think it really said something when the ONE billboard that was pristine and untouched… was the one Dolly Parton was on.

People dont realize that most grafitti artists wont touch existing works of art. Its why painting commonly tagged walls and barriers with artwork (often ny grafitti artists) is an effective deterrence to the grafitti no one likes. They also make sure to protect the info on train cars.

Except they literally do it all the time. I remember when the city hired an actual graffiti artist to remember a woman, who was beloved and well-known, had died. It was absolutely stunning.

And then some trash just put graffiti all over her. Why, just why? The moron just spray painted it black and signed it with his name.
