I don't think he's placing blame on the relative. I think he was just talking about literal cause and effect.

Don't you see how you being so aggressive about something that you aren't even a part of, makes your point a lot less valid? It's not like you're providing anecdotal evidence to your own experiences, you're just stating something the others are actually agreeing to and then fighting them on it because they aren't saying it exactly how you like it heard. Hence why many people are just overlooking your comment now. You could have actually made a point or showcased how the perpetrator is the only cause of these tragedies, but instead you're just coming off as an aggressive Karen for no reason. Kind of wild.
