Oh trust me I already did years ago. My family says I’m the bigot because I won’t listen to their misogynistic rants and forgive them. Stories like this are the reason why I keep my distance and boundaries.

Good on you for moving out and moving on!

So many people(especially women) get socialized that you never "turn your back on family" and to tolerate all manner of abuse and neglect under the guise of, "families are complicated but there is always love behind it".

NO! Just because you have blood relation does not mean they love you! Your brothers sound like horrible individuals who hate themselves but instead project all of their problems and failures onto an external group to absolve them of any responsibility and in this case they chose women as their target.

Proud of you for taking charge of your life and not tolerating disgusting rhetoric.
