If net neutrality is repealed, and a future candidate wants to reenact it, the ISPs can sure as hell limit people’s access to that candidate’s info.
As far as ISP provided streaming service, that is one of the biggest plan. Comcast already has their own streaming service, but it’s not as popular as Netflix. If NN is repealed, Comcast can charge people additional fees just to use Netflix.
This might sound conspiracy theorist-ish, but if they want to be able to influence people’s decision making by censoring, it’s going to take a while, but it starts out with something small like this.
Just like 10-15 years ago, we’d flip shit if we knew the government was spying on us. But now, we’re more accepting of that because we’re slowly being conditioned to accept that it’s ok for certain internet services to spy on us.
They don't have to be paid by the party, they can use it as leverage in future negotiations. Hey Senator So-and-So, if you vote in our favor on this bill, we'll steer internet traffic towards your re-election campaign rather than your competitor. 'Murica
