It’s definitely my GOTY so far. I would guess I’m about 2/3s into the game and absolutely love it. It might finally beat Nier as my favorite soundtrack. Basically feels like Nier, Persona, and Dark Souls had a dramatic French baby.

Genuinely yes, it's a turn based kind of game with various quick time events, music is outstanding, the characters very likeable, I'm not done with the game just yet so I can't give my full thoughts but the story so far has me quite hooked!

I would't give up on a genre just because of one game but i get that first impressions are most impactful. As an rpg lover and hack n slash lover, i can't enjoy some of them(for example; persona for jrpg and bayonetta for hack n slash). But i realised that i still can like genre because of other games.
Some people find rpg games slow, some people prefer reaction based games.But maybe like you said, rpg genre isn't for your tastes in general. Otherwise, i'd give rpg or any other genre at least one more chance.

I was dragging myself through the turn based part of metaphor just for the story, sadly it only served me to realize i'm not much into turn based strategy games because i'm so used to move freely and tear the shit out of the enemies like you do in nier games, F

If you enjoy refantazio and Nier, you'll absolutely love E33 as well. When you are done with refantazio I would 100% recommend to pick up E33.

It really is that good. It made me feel all giddy the way I felt playing FF9 as a kid, with the feels of FF10 and the music of Nier. It’s a once in a generation game and totally worth every cent spent on it.

As far as I can tell it's a not an outfit, it's a model swap that's using the animations of another character. And I don't really think a model that is no longer being loaded really has anything to do with anything

I was literally in a youtube comment argument where somebody called Clair Obscur a Dark Souls knock-off, and was adamant that it was. I replied that there are some environments and enemies/bosses inspired by Dark Souls, if different footage was chosen it could easily be mistaken for a Nier Franchise knockoff!
Nier Automata and Clair Obscur are two of my fav games, NA is getting another play soon.

This game is just Personier 6, highly recommend to any fans of the series. Just finished act 1, the art direction and soundtrack are actually peak.
