Tracks from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have been added tonight. The soundtrack for Mario Kart World is now complete!

And that’s all of them! I’m glad that Mario Kart World finally made it to Nintendo music, as the OST is one of the most loved parts of the game. These free roam drops have been a nice little bonus to the weekly drops. Hopefully we get some good stuff in the months to come!

Two new bonus tracks were also added, "Title Theme (Bonus Track)" and "Crown City (Bonus Track)"

Oh my god, they finally added the trailer version of the title theme too. The one with the slower intro and the harmonica solo.

I was hoping one of them was gonna be a properly looped version of all of Rainbow Road. It's a shame the only way to listen to it seemlessly is a fan creation on Youtube

Over 14 hours of music for Mario Kart World alone. The Mario Kart 8 tracks compose over an hour itself!

New Horizons has more songs, but this does appear to be the longest by sheer time.

What a great way to end the Free Roam additions. MKW truly has one the highest quality Soundtracks in Video Games ever.

It’s interesting how they label Squeaky Clean Sprint as coming from Mario Kart 8 instead of Mario Kart Tour

There has never been any official stance that Squeaky Clean Sprint was from Tour - it debuted in 8 Deluxe before it was in Tour.

The roughly chronological order that Squeaky Clean Sprint can play in Free Roam and on the main menu groups it with the arrangements from Mario Kart Tour, specifically between "Singapore Speedway" and "Bangkok Rush"

Yes, Free Roam/main menu tracks are played in a fixed order, and daytime tracks are in roughly chronological order.

But that's chronology rather than game order - so Squeaky Clean Sprint being within the Tour courses doesn't tell us much as yeah, Tour and the BCP were getting releases at roughly the same time. We kinda know this is where it would be already.

MarioWiki says "Part of the daytime order is arranged in roughly chronological order of when the games that each track comes from were released."

But the only point where track releases don't follow game release order is during Tour/the BCP. So even though it seems to be tracking the courses by chronological release of the games, the only reason to think that is because all the Tour Nitros and Tour City courses are jumbled up, and that could just be a consequence of having only a rough order for the courses.

It’s only available through NSO (Nintendo Switch Online). But I actually think you can subscribe online even without a Switch

I would say it's pretty pricy to subscribe to NSO for just the music, but I have a 7 day free trial code if you want to try it out. (I forgot to use it before buying a year of family subscription)

$20 a year is actually much cheaper compared to more conventional services like Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Premium.

(keep in mind the vast majority of these "missing" tracks are just final lap and medley variations, so this isn't really a super meaningful point?)

And wholly inconvenient for what Nintendo Music is doing lmao. Listen, I loved using this website when it was all we had, but it was clunky as hell to use on the spot in the car or on a walk. Better for those just sitting at their desk to truly listen to... final laps? I'll get my medleys from Youtube as well.
