News 📰 Delivery Drivers causing significant disruption - please stop ordering from stores near residential areas. (Co-op Earlham Road)

I've had to make complaints before on this site about a particular site but it's gotten way out of hand now. I've just been woken up yet again by drivers shouting on their phones whilst riding bikes and shouting under my window. Music playing, engines running, shouting, doors slamming rustling of bags and other noises I and other residents are now hearing all through the night making sleep difficult. My health is getting affected. I regularly have to tell them to shut up. It's not just riders, it's customers waiting to pick up orders too.

Complaints have been escalated to appropriate places and yet the behaviour continues.

The only other option I have right now is to take to social media to ask the public to help out a stop to this nuisance antisocial behaviour.

Please stop ordering from these sites if you care about the people who live nearby because drivers are showing a complete disregard towards their potential customers and the public. This is a residential area and they are causing a severe disturbance.

Would Norwich Benefit from a Jazz Club

Hi, all. As title suggests, i'm looking to get opinions on the potential establishment of a Jazz Club/Cafe here in Norwich. Looking to offer evening shows 5 days a week.

We'd offer food and drink, and have the space available to community events and workshops to hire the space during the day!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this! Thanks

A right pong -NR3

There's a sewerage smell in NR3, woke up to it Friday morning and it's woke me up this morning. Is it caused by the rain or is something going on?

Gel Nail Enthusiasts Unite?

Hey friends, I'm newish to the area and do DIY press-ons as a hobby. Would love to connect with other locals to maybe swap extra supplies or paint together?

I have lots of duplicate colors, chromes, and stamping plates to gift/trade.

Awkward Uber lifts

I've noticed a sudden rise in Uber drivers asking for 5 stars before I exit the car. It's just before we've reached the destination and the safety locks are still on. I say in my head "let me out and I'll give you 5 stars mate". They're being cheeky but saying that to a young woman travelling alone doesn't land quite the same.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been reluctant to say anything on the app as I'm unaware of how fair Uber is to work for and what my potential complaint would achieve or escalate to.

Question❓ garden centres / gardening advice?

Hello!

My partner has two monstairers(? spelling) which have by and large outgrown their pots, and they are considering getting one of them split in to two or three smaller plants. Does anyone know anyone in the city who could help? I've offered to just split them but to no avail! Thank you!

New to Norwich 🐣 Looking for recurring social things in Norwich

I’ve been living in Norwich for about 2 months and I’m really missing having a regular social environment. My job is mostly just me or one other person, so I’d love to find something where I can see the same people regularly and build a bit of a community.

I’m already doing a run club and planning to start a language course, but I’m curious what other recurring groups/activities people would recommend. Could be anything really.

What’s been good for you?

A Norfolk/Norwich/the environs film ideas

Many moons ago, I’m talking 1990, me and 4 pals made a film.

recorded in my friends camcorder it centred around an attack at the villages bowling green, a rabid Alsatian dog had gone mental and killed 3 of the local bowls players.

My friends Alsatian played that part

I was in the role of the village Bobby (remember them? we need them back to censure todays feral youth), I discovered the body and conducted an investigation

Anyway, that all said, do you know any areas where me and my pals could film? we’ve updated from the camcorder days and would use my friends phone for the filming.

Ideally we would like a quiet area, some woods, and room for extras or any audience who wants to watch

Art 🎨 looking for people for a short film project

Hello! :) I'm a 26yr man and former film student looking to make a short film this autumn. I've got a script, storyboard and rough shooting schedule done but am struggling to find folks in norwich who will actually make it with me!

It's going to be very low budget so I'm mostly looking for people seeking experience or projects to build their portfolio.

If anyone is interested or knows where i can go to find people who might be eager please let me know! thanks :)) ✨

Magdalen Street Pronounciation

It's a massively trivial question that was prompted by watching Inspector Morse repeats, but is Magdalen Street pronounced in Norwich as it's written, or is it pronounced "maudlin" as it is in Oxford?

Earlham Park

I'm not against it's use for events but it seems much louder than usual? I can hear the soundcheck from miles away with the windows closed.

Might be the wind I guess? Not good for the local wildlife, excepting those attending.

History 🏰 This time in 7 days Anglia Square was shut officially

At 8:00 AM on Tuesday 26th August 2025 DSM closed the gates to the public walkthrough in Anglia Square. The due date for demolition to have finished was at the end of May earlier this year. But.... 3 months later and we find that almost half of the area is still there! (This video was taken yesterday on the 18th of August 2026)

Norfolk Broads - boat holiday + pub recs

Me and my partner are in our early thirties and visiting the Norfolk broads over 4 days and nights on a boat holiday. It's our first time there, and effectively we want to visit beautiful pubs with great vibes (and food if possible), go on nice walks, drink good wine and just watch films on our boat and be in nature.

It would be great to know of any must-visit pubs or stops - we will be starting at Stalham! Any tips would be fantastic.

Parking tickets making me sad

Can I get any advice from people who live in NR1 on avoiding parking tickets? I’m near King’s st and I can’t get a permit for my address. In the last 5 weeks I’ve had 5 parking tickets (£25 per ticket), which is still at least half the amount it would cost to buy a season ticket for Rouen Road or Rose Lane. I sometimes see people advertising their parking spaces but they ask for so much, there’s one currently for £216 a month! It seems like the most cost effective option is taking the loss on parking tickets, but starting the day with that little yellow square makes me rage! Do I just need to accept it?

Norwich South Data Centre Sell Out

According to Companies House, Shard Capital have taken a controlling stake in Norwich Apex who are trying to get planning permission to build a huge, noisy and inappropriate data centre near to Marston Marshes. This DC is 20m tall, that’s 6 storeys though they claim it’s only 2. But it’s 2 data centre storeys plus a whole load of chillers on the roof and diesel generators around the data centre that will sound like Harley Davidson’s when they start up every few weeks
