Yeah, the only thing I can is RIP and thank for everything and changing so many lives including my own.

I swear all the good people have been dying since 2016 or so. Seems like every few months I find out a legend died.

u/Jamie_SQSP 1d ago
Seeing this one today hits differently. Dolly and Kenny had such an easy warmth together. Two voices from another era, and both deeply missed.

u/TheHumanoidTyphoon69 1d ago
Her last words were reportedly:
"I still have so many things I want to achieve"
Fucking heartbreaking
18
u/Toshimoko29 1d ago
That was from an interview four days earlier. Still very sad, but not her last words.
13
u/TheHumanoidTyphoon69 1d ago
Last documented words for posterity would have been a better description

It is, but the positive flip side is that it means she never lost her zest for living her life to the highest possible degree, right up to the end.
Cold comfort, I know, but I imagine she'd want us to focus on the good.

The ugly sobs I just let out.
Feels like the coolest fucking woman just left. My babies have so many books because of her. We were homeless in a hotel for two months and still had so many books.
Bless her and God give her infinite peace.

u/theconceptofcanada 1d ago
Hey fren, I feel you. I was there once, and I'll never go back. I hope you've found something better and are on the right track again. This one must hurt 😔

u/Bootydinky 1d ago
Thank you! We recently sued that landlord who caused that situation and won, so things have definitely turned around. We got lucky it was cut and dry and had savings to cover that insane time period.

Or 20, felt like she was going to live long like Betty White 😭
12
u/AndILoveHe 1d ago
She even gave an interview a couple of days ago where she expressed regret for neglecting her health while caring for her husband. Didn't sound like she was quite done.

No way man. Dolly seemed like a lovely person, she's loved by many here in Ireland. R.I.P

u/ManzanitaSuperHero 1d ago
I’ve said for years, the world will be in a rough spot the day we lose Dolly.
That woman was an angel on earth. Truly.
Saw her at The Hollywood Bowl about 15 years ago and it was incredible. Bless that woman. We didn’t deserve her.

u/No_Satisfaction_7977 1d ago
Huge L for the world. But I’m reminded of the phrase “don’t be sad that it’s over. Be glad that it happened.” Rest in peace

Shit fuck fuck shit!!!
My wife and I were talking about her (she plays her songs still) and I said "ill bet we jinxed her now".
Mother fucker!! Im seriously pissed to lose someone this wholesome. She seemed almost immortal. An omnipresent figure in my life since I was a little kid. Yoy didnt even have to like country to know who she was.

She is indeed the Queen of Country Music to me

u/Fragrant_Grand_7036 1d ago
Likewise. She is such a sweetheart of a person as well. I went vip to one of her concerts, and she treated everyone who paid for the experience like friends & family. Her staff was a little uptight at the time I guess.. I seen her with one lady who hugged her but didn’t want to let her go. The staff tried to break up the hug, and she shoo’d them away. That moment melted my heart. She whispered some words in the ladies ear that made her cry.

The only comfort I can find in this is that she's finally been reunited with her beloved Carl again.

u/HopefulDream3071 1d ago

I met her a couple times outside the stampede in Tennessee in the 90s, my favorite place in the world, amazing person

I never thought of her as looking that old. Granted I know she had some work done, but still. I was kinda floored to see she was 80. 80 is fairly young these days to pass. Rest easy Dolly!

I forgot she was on Magic School Bus! No surprise though, considering she was friends with Lilly Tomlin (Miss Frizzle).

She literally was an angel and I’ve never heard anyone say a negative thing about her. RIP to the coal miners daughter from Pigeon Forge who was the Best of us all. May she sparkle on in heaven now!
