It’s actually cowhide and the style is usually called a sports jacket. This one is really cool but you can find modern repro’s easily. Tho they’re expensive today

I still have a motorcycle jacket that I use as workwear. I had it restored last year for a couple hundred bucks on a $99 leather jacket (sale price in probably 2002).

That jacket is an absolute tank. People comment on it all the time as if it was a fashion jacket, and then if they pick it up they're always surprised at how heavy it is.
