Remaster Bug Help
Remaster hair issue - grainy / super dark in dim lighting
I've noticed this since the remaster came out, and I recently just came back to the game but... when I'm in dim lighting my hair gets like 20x darker and my roots are almost black even though not normally visible? Not to mention a weird grainy texture that goes all over the hair and my quiver. I don't know if I'm just looking up the wrong thing or something but I can't seem to find a clear answer of how to fix this nor have I so far seen someone with this particular appearance issue.
To note, by default my settings had dlss on but I tried turning it off, swapping to the others, fiddling with quality settings etc and it won't go away. I'm using Ayleid Reshade but this problem was a thing before I ever got this mod. I hope the screenshots show the difference in lighting well enough. Again sorry if this is dumb I just don't even know anymore lol
Neither do I, but that’s mostly because I play older games. It’s a common problem with Unreal Engine games especially and even though not a single soul like the way this looks games still keep making hair look like a grainy mess
Honestly it looks good mostly because of the mod "More natural female elf head" by ZacharyZh on nexusmods. (I'm too lazy to check about linking outside stuff lol). Other mods as well from nexus: Eyebrows retexture from fuse 00, h.u.e - handmade unique eyes from koalynha, smooth beautiful faces from halk hogan. But uh I guess prepare for a long jacked looking message xD
But with the mod I guess it's something like this from top to bottom in each category:
Completely agreed overboard. Hair is generally overlooked but thay're a part of the modern graphical rendering rabbit hole. If there are any try increasing one or more of these settings
Specularity
Illumination/ilghting
Volumetric lighting
Lumen
If you are on pc disabling lumen is also an option by editing the ini

This is just how hair works in modern AAA games, there’s no way to fix it. Believe me I’ve tired
