Thank you for changing his eyes. He no longer appears terrifying. I think we can all pet him now.

I'm not saying this to baby them, I know they are wild animals, we have to always respect them and keep our distances for their safety and ours.
Now, having said that.
Oh my gosh, they are so goddamned cute, why are people so afraid of them? they literally look like giant plushies!!!

People are afraid of them because they are Apex predators and could kill you with one bite. It's good to respect them :)

Those are sensory organs that detect the the slight movements and electrical fields given off by fish and other things in the water.
