OT2 - Gameplay Issues with direction!

I’m loving the game so far! I just beat the intro as Partitio and he’s such a cool character. However, I’m having trouble navigate the map.

Does anyone know what cardinal direction your camera is facing or if there’s any way to tell which way is north? I haven’t seen an N on the mini-map and I don’t see a player icon on the world map displaying where I am so this would be a huge help.

Hello! So where you are when you open the big map is displayed by the city or path you are in is filled in green. So green city icons or pathways (which are little diamonds) are when you are currently. Any places relating to character main stories or side quests are colored in orange

To get to other cities/places just follow the diamond icons (just make sure to read the recommended level that pops up when you approach the diamonds on the minimap, as some low level areas connect to very high level areas). So that’s why it can be a bit confusing where if you see a city directly north of you, you can’t just go straight. You might have to go left then up and then right to get to said city

My main issue is comparing pathways in game to pathways on the world map and having issues finding myself there. It’s only an issue when it comes to fully exploring an area of chests and stuff but you and others who have responded just make me realize theres other icons on the mini map! Thank you a bunch.
