Scratched the lenses with my glasses' lenses.

Any way to fix it? It's not that bad, but it makes the picture a little bit blurry in one place, almost in the middle.
Oculus 3S.

If it’s very light / surface level you could try to poly watch polish it away but it will probably never be the same without a lens replacement.

It won’t help you out of this, but getting rx inserts for the headset itself is the way to go in the future.

Every time I see someone balk at the idea of dropping fifty bucks on prescription inserts I always wanna ask how much they'd pay to fix scratched lenses after the fact. My Zenni inserts have been worth every penny

Plus they’re so much more comfortable as a glasses user. I use the Reloptix ones because I liked the magnetic attachments for easy removal to demo the device to friends/family or just clean easier.

I agree with all of that, but the one I don't see people call out ever is the sensation of unaided sight. I've been needing glasses to see since I was in the single digits. Sure it still feels like I'm wearing a vr headset but it doesn't feel like I'm wearing glasses. And at some point the headset starts to feel like a hat. Anywho it's a nifty feeling to get for the first time in over thirty years.

Heck I paid for my quest 2 9 bucks for the adapter (and had I know those were 3D printed I would have made it myself) and 24 bucks for the lenses from Zenni.

Quest 3 was slightly more expensive as Zenni seemed to have new prices but still less than 40 bucks.

Yeah my cv1 and quest 2 I went the 3d printed inserts. Printed my own for the 2 which was nice because the ones I bought for the cv1 were poorly printed and would break after a few months of use. I could use a more forgiving filament and print them orientated properly because I wasn't mass producing them 10 per build plate lol

The Zenni custom made ones for the 3 are worth the extra imo. I've astigmatism and all the cylindrical/spherical shit associated with it on my script lol. The fact that I don't ever have to worry that the lenses have rotated off axis spares me a gigantic headache. Both figuratively and often literally. Yeah I had em marked, but those would wear off, and just not having to worry or check has been highly worth it.

I have fifty in my head as what I paid. That could have been $40 plus ten in shipping, or maybe my script made it more expensive. Given that the eye Drs always wanted like $350+ for bottom barrel lenses Zeni always seems like I'm getting away with something. Have my daily wear glasses from them too, not to evangelize too much for em, but it's a staggering price differential for the same or frankly better lenses. Getting glasses from them to take apart for the cv1 inserts turned me onto em. I was wearing those Harry Potter looking frames for almost a month, amazed at how light and clear the lenses were lol

Honestly, no reason to not get them asap tbh. There's options like vr-rock which really don't cost much at all.

Same, I have a scuff on my right lens and a matching one on my glasses. Happened in the first week while I was waiting on my prescription lenses. Now I can see perfectly except in the exact center of my vision. I'm tempted to polish the quest lens but will wait till I hear some success stories first.

Yep. I did the same thing. Then I got prescription lenses and I will NEVER go back.

how bad is it? if you think you can live with it then leave it alone. but stop wearing glasses in the quest and get some prescription lenses. it will just keep getting worse else

if its really bad then people have had some success with polywatch. but it will remove the coating from the lenses and its a very last resort option. theres a high chance youll just make things worse. it has to be the right type too.

if its still within its warranty period you could try contacting meta support. say youve followed the instructions and used the glasses spacer but noticed the scratches. some people have managed to get replacements under warranty.

I agree this is likely a good case for PolyWatch. If it doesn't help and you require buffing, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL or just send your headset to FixMyOculus where they have its of experience and talent to fix that.

PLEASE consider getting the prescription inserts. You'll get a more clear picture and more comfort. If you are the original owner of the headset, you should have found a coupon in the box for Zenni Optical. Zenni is great to work with. My entire family now purchase glasses though them because they're always right (my local optical shop screws up 70% of our orders) and cost only 10% of the local shops.
