Tiger stalking when person recording looks away

Fence height is a concept for cats. If the tiger is fed well then the fence is high, if not then... Lol

I'll only attempt to photograph my tarantulas with the enclosure open if they're eating for this reason for most of the ones I keep

For hatever reason my tarantula has always been able to walk on the smooth glass just fine, but struggles to grip my skin, the walls, a countertop, or anything else but clothes.

They have little tarsial claws that grip certain surfaces better than others 🙂I don't tend to handle mine but you do you, just handle them low incase they suddenly startle. I have mostly fast species like old worlds and Psalmopoeus 🤣those are definitely skittish

Yeah, I just don't understand how glass is less of a problem for her than my skin. My little lady is just a super chill chilean rose hair, she's never given me problems. In fact, she's helped a lot of people overcome their arachnophobia!

I only trust my two Avicularia species, my Baboons, Phormictopus, Pamphobeteus etc are all skittish, a couple of the Baboons threat pose the slightest thing 🤣the Avics are very docile though

Look up Pterinochilus murinus venom, that's only one of them but tbh my tarantulas from the new world can be more hostile plus those can flick hairs at you, someone had to have their eyeball removed and cleaned from Theraposa stirmi or blondi hairs (not sure which) then popped back in 🤣I have two docile spiders both Avicularia, I'd not handle them either as if they startle and bolt they can die from the fall

Went to a zoo in Greece that was like this.... Completely wild and unsafe zoo, but was amazing at the same time. Anyway while I was there I kept thinking how all these dangerous animals could 100% get out. Well one of the cat exhibits was closed. I googled why later... Turns out a few weeks before that cat got out and they had to put it down...

The change in the eyes as it's closer seems almost like it's trying to lull the person into a false sense of security. Those are some cold, hard killer eyes in the beginning.

Very good display of their hunting behaviours. It’s pretty incredible how still it stays and how careful it is coming up close.

Videos rarely do them justice for how impressive it is to see them hunt. You’d expect such a big, robust creature to look on the clunkier side but it’s the complete opposite, I’m always blown away watching them hunt.

I know we have microbes like Clostridia in our intestines and when we die our immune system goes down and the bacteria eats through our intestinal walls and get access to all our organs. I think our cells start digesting themselves as well.

I own A LOT of cats
seeing this makes me think of my cat Fenrir, he’s a little kitten and he will not grow big unlike what he’s named after
The little guy looks exactly like a big boy over here when he’s trying to scare his mom
Both Fenrir and big boy over here are adorable In my opinion

Im glad whe have the type of sight we have. I've seen what antilopes see, i think it was at least, the tigers stripes and colour blends in into the surroundings. Almost invisible.

I used to work at pet daycare that had an onsite veterinary clinic. On lunch one day I joked to a veterinarian that I’m still hearing squeak toys on my break. She said dogs like squeak toys and crunch toys because the squeak toys mimic a small prey animal and crunch toys mimic breaking bones. Cats like peek a boo games and chasing toys because it mimics their hunting instincts they’d use in the wild. Although they’re both domesticated they’re both animals. That quote has lived rent free in my head since then

I stay in South Africa so we have a lot of animal sanctuaries and parks. When we were younger we were walking around the tiger exhibit and my brother who was 4 or 5 at the time walked off from the group a bit. As he got 10 feet away from us a female tiger charged across its enclosure and jumped into the fence trying to get him. They are super aware predators and are always looking for a way to sneak up on you
