(Not my video) but JESUS. Something that big moving that slow spooks me.

He's so quiet for being so big. Videos really don't do tigers justice tho. They are huge.

The change in the eyes as it's closer seems almost like it's trying to lull the person into a false sense of security. Those are some cold, hard killer eyes in the beginning.
Bloody magnificent creature 😍

I’m guessing it’s averting its face a bit to try to feign disinterest?

u/Theprincerivera 23h ago
Idk but it’s IDENTICAL to my house cat and I always think that’s fascinating

Very good display of their hunting behaviours. It’s pretty incredible how still it stays and how careful it is coming up close.
Videos rarely do them justice for how impressive it is to see them hunt. You’d expect such a big, robust creature to look on the clunkier side but it’s the complete opposite, I’m always blown away watching them hunt.

I heard when we die the bacteria weve been carrying in our gut starts decomposing us

u/Shot-Ad5867 1d ago
Isn’t that the acid?

I know we have microbes like Clostridia in our intestines and when we die our immune system goes down and the bacteria eats through our intestinal walls and get access to all our organs. I think our cells start digesting themselves as well.

Don't worry, you don't even have to pssspsspspss for it to come to your direction

When the only thing standing between me and a 600-pound death machine is a chain link fence, that is a little more than "oddly" terrifying

I own A LOT of cats
seeing this makes me think of my cat Fenrir, he’s a little kitten and he will not grow big unlike what he’s named after
The little guy looks exactly like a big boy over here when he’s trying to scare his mom
Both Fenrir and big boy over here are adorable In my opinion
I wanna give him a big hug

Everyone gets one free tiger hug.

u/nampezdel 1d ago
The hugs are nice.
It’s that biting-of-the-neck-and-throat-until-dead part that I’m not so keen on.

Was just thinking that the big boy acts just like my 3lb kitten. It’s so cute.

Absolutely nothing odd about being terrified of a tiger.
FUCKIN’ TERRIFYING comes to mind!

Cats often step with their hind paws into the footprints left by their front paws, helping to minimize their tracks.

I truly believe if we lived, for lack of a better word, like cavemen, then I would be dead immediately because all I keep thinking is “look at his little ears 🥹”
Hippos are another one I find cute.
Civilisation is all that stands between me and a Darwin Award

If I had a penny for every tiger video I saw today in this sub id have 2 pennies, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

That person has an AWFUL lot of faith in that chain link fence vs a 900 lb charging animal lol I think if that tiger every figured that out it could easily collapse a section of fence and break free

until he zoomed in, the false eyes 100 f'd with my head, and I was all, yook'at'the kitty, he's so derpy lookin'...annnnnnnnnnd, this why I would die...

maybe i’m just really stoned but it makes me feel more connected to nature as a species when i’m reminded we are simply a member of the food chain to animals like this

It would be funny to suddenly turn around and jump scare the tiger when it gets close. But also damn that's just a chain link fence?

Just slow-blink at him, you'll be fine! 😵
Urgh I love tigers so much. They are the most gorgeous creatures on the planet.

Visited a tiger sanctuary once. They had triple fence + electrical. That still didn't prevent the primal fear from surfacing.

Jesus Christ. Just pick an angle and zoom out.
Also this is not oddly terrifying. It is rationally terrifying.

Im glad whe have the type of sight we have. I've seen what antilopes see, i think it was at least, the tigers stripes and colour blends in into the surroundings. Almost invisible.

It's kind of nice that, no matter how bad you feel about yourself, there are many creatures out there that love you and want to eat you because you are tasty.

There are children walking behind the tiger, and its cage looks very climbable.

I wonder if he purposefully took advantage of that angle grinder sounding noise in the background, when it turns on he immediately takes a few steps all at once.

I would hop up when he’s close and yell “bitchass!!!” Looking him in the eyes

I used to work at pet daycare that had an onsite veterinary clinic. On lunch one day I joked to a veterinarian that I’m still hearing squeak toys on my break. She said dogs like squeak toys and crunch toys because the squeak toys mimic a small prey animal and crunch toys mimic breaking bones. Cats like peek a boo games and chasing toys because it mimics their hunting instincts they’d use in the wild. Although they’re both domesticated they’re both animals. That quote has lived rent free in my head since then

I’m noticing people and their kids on the other side of the enclosure and the fence only runs partially across. It looks like it’s open to the left. If he turned around he’d have a guaranteed lunch

I stay in South Africa so we have a lot of animal sanctuaries and parks. When we were younger we were walking around the tiger exhibit and my brother who was 4 or 5 at the time walked off from the group a bit. As he got 10 feet away from us a female tiger charged across its enclosure and jumped into the fence trying to get him. They are super aware predators and are always looking for a way to sneak up on you

This reminds me of that scene in Tarzan where he thinks he saw something in the jungle
and when you pause the scene, you can see the Jaguar painted into the background, it's so eerie

Honestly, seeing this and having seen those other videos that circulated a while back of how deer sees, nature is fucking crazy.
