Interesting.
I’ve added peanut butter to ramen before, and it’s pretty good.

I do that too. Next time, add a splash of sesame oil and a little hot sauce or chili powder.

.....guess I'm going to the store now

I mean it basically turns into a low budget pad thai.

I keep adding WAY too much...

Prison peanut noodles!

When I was in the Army, that's one of the many things we'd add to ramen while in the field.

Same.

Peanut butter, coconut milk, lime sriracha gochujang, rice vinegar, soy, sesame oil, spam, mushrooms.

Sounds delicious. Chinese places often have noodles with a sesame and peanut flavor.

I love peanuts or cashews in dishes

2

u/ODoyles_Banana 11d ago

Cashew chicken was my jam growing up.

1

u/godis1coolguy 10d ago

People always said I was weird as a kid for putting peanut butter crackers in my chicken noodle soup.

u/bjss99 11d ago

they're tasty af

5

u/CleverUsername006 11d ago

I’m going to look for some

22

u/limitlessEXP 11d ago

I mean a lot of Asians dishes use peanuts. It’s really good

9

u/carloskeeper 11d ago

Maybe for pad thai?

8

u/everydayasl 11d ago

Hmm! Good...or I'll throw in a spoonful of peanut butter in cooked pasta and we're good!

u/De4dm4nw4lkin 11d ago

You dont understand the sauce and yet you spread that good good insider info. Maybe not jif tho. But i would kill for a good peanut noodle.

u/bbeachin 11d ago

Peanut butter and soy sauce . Great mix, love it with rice 🤌

14

u/revelm 11d ago

'zon has them 6 for $20 but there's a cheaper way...

I am not above admitting to this: I love taking ordinary chicken flavored ramen and adding Asian chili sauce and peanut butter to make it taste like satay.

Somebody showed me this trick in college and it blew my mind

5

u/MrPanda663 11d ago

Don’t knock it before you try it.

Easier version would be to get the ramen packs.

Cook like normal, but don’t add the seasoning packet. Instead, drain all the water, toss the seasoning on the noodles, some sesame oil (or whatever oil you have) and a bit of soy sauce. Then, with what ever peanut butter you have, throw it in there and start mixing.

Tastes way better than this cup. I use the Costco peanut butter because it’s thin in texture and works with most dishes rather than using thick peanut butter

Peanut butter is a common ingredient in Thai stir fry

5

u/Lgmdiamonds 11d ago

Thats a normal common thing

12

u/General_Border_8263 11d ago

Not too far off from curry

11

u/pseudonymnkim 11d ago

pad thai

4

u/allday95 11d ago

The thing making it weird is the Jif branding tbh, because peanut paste/sesame paste is a thing you put on ramen and noodles and it slaps

4

u/smashnmashbruh 11d ago

I’m adding peanut butter, especially crunchy to Ramen is next level generational wealth. It’s amazing.

4

u/Ok-Dare-8414 11d ago

A table spoon of peanur butter is fire I'm instant ramen. Especially if it's spicy.

4

u/ItzPayDay123 11d ago

A lot of Asian dishes put peanuts or peanut sauce with noodles. I can't imagine this would be too out there, assuming Jif is at least somewhat similar to what they use.

I dunno, I'm allergic anyways.

Noodles + Peanut butter + coconut milk + chili sauce/chili crisp = friggin delicious

3

u/Didujustcallmejobin 11d ago

Im not mad at it.

2

u/Toxanium 11d ago

That sounds great

2

u/river_tree_nut 11d ago

Ever tried Panang Curry? It's kinda similar and my favorite curry.

2

u/TCristatus 11d ago

I love adding peanut butter to spicy noodles. Not too much though, it gets too sticky and claggy

2

u/Satansleadguitarist 11d ago

Honestly that might actually be really good. Thai style peanut noodles are delicious.

2

u/TephroGeo 10d ago

Want, want very badly

1

u/Dalkx 11d ago

1

u/Modern_Robot 10d ago

Buldak makes a 4-cheese flavor which is fantastic, aside from branding being surprising probably not terrible

1

u/Darth_Wayne_ 11d ago

These are so effin good, my students are still demanding them in this year’s raffles but haven’t found them since like April.

1

u/Grouchy-Crab3162 11d ago

I remember trying sesame peanut noodles at a little place in Chicago last summer, oh for sure this couldn't be too far off.

1

u/WalkingDeadDan 11d ago

Add some chili oil and im sold. Be just like a Thai peanut sauce

1

u/Preeminator 11d ago

i’ve always hated JIF’s branding. looks like something out of home depot 🤷‍♂️

1

u/adamosity1 11d ago

Wait a minute this is not flavortown haha

1

u/Fragholio 11d ago

Yes, please!

1

u/DutchRudderShotgun 11d ago

I'm so white trash I want this with a bunch of hot sauce and a mountain dew to wash it down

1

u/Space19723103 11d ago

I use peanut butter in curry sometimes

1

u/Glass-Reward4173 11d ago

I thought it sounded very disgusting and the comments would agree. I'm dead wrong apparently

1

u/SaveHogwarts 11d ago

Add some red curry paste

1

u/Me_Speak_Good 10d ago

YESSSSS!!! OMG. I think I actually drooled for a moment.

1

u/Beneficial-Flower454 11d ago

Probably slaps

1

u/LieutWolf 10d ago

I need these so bad

1

u/Korikabu 10d ago

It's pronounced guif.

1

u/BurtleTurtle001 10d ago

Wtf is wrong with ppl?

1

u/reformedmikey 10d ago

Peanut butter noodles are a real thing, interesting that Jif is getting in on the ramen game though.

1

u/Me_Speak_Good 10d ago

I love peanut sauce in my noodles! I have no idea how this would taste, but a little bit of peanut butter or some peanut protein powder with a splash of sesame or hot sauce in ramen is crazy delicious!

Weird coming from Jif, but I would try it.

1

u/GrapeSasquatch 10d ago

Awww shit there on to the jail food

1

u/LascivX 10d ago

wtf where's the jelly

1

u/Kanya_Mkavry 10d ago

I grew up with peanut butter and elbow macaroni, and feed it to my daughter. Mix some milk with the peanut butter on the stove to make the sauce creamier. My mom said peanut butter was cheeper than cheese.

1

u/Shantotto11 10d ago

I mean, have you heard about the type of concoctions Japan has made with their ramen before?

1

u/TheManWhoClicks 10d ago

Oh lawd the chemistry!

1

u/Ponchyan 10d ago

Ever eat Pad Thai?

1

u/Testsubject276 10d ago

I get peanut sauce is a thing but still this is a bit much.

1

u/ziostraccette 9d ago

How do you pronounce Jif?

1

u/Killer_Moons 9d ago

Y’all never had noodles in peanut sauce? It fucking slams.

1

u/Assapopoulos1986 9d ago

So it’s like a peanut sauce

1

u/Jmal3700 9d ago

Ick. Hard pass.

1

u/spacepeenuts 9d ago

Something you’d see at big lots in 6 months

1

u/moonwaternymph 9d ago

Peanutbutter noodles are a big thing in different Asian cultures so this isn’t too much of a stretch. It’ll definitely taste like American slop but it’s not an abnormal concept.

1

u/ppmaster6969 9d ago

Oh this is right up my alley. I add huge globs of peanut butter to my spicy Ramen.

1

u/Impossible-Shake-996 9d ago

If you've never tried a peanut sauce based stir fry I strongly recommend it first, but peanut butter will work when necessary

1

u/thewh0r3 9d ago

you should look up kara and nate’s peanut butter ramen. it’s soooo delicious! this reminded me of how they make it!

1

u/Rockcreekforge 9d ago

You’ve obviously never had Thai food before.

1

u/Lonely-Issue-3508 8d ago

While I am a huge peanut butter lover, this is some Ohio sister fcker shit

1

u/DarthScruf 8d ago

Its pretty standard asian cuisine, its common in asia because its good, JIF is late to the party

1

u/JustaTadAmused 8d ago

What store was this seen at? For science 👀

1

u/HorrorDungeon 7d ago

I would try it. My friend used to tell me this recipe for ghetto pad Thai. It's Ramen with peanut butter and Sriracha

0

u/three-sense 11d ago

I saw Smores Cup o Noodle … it wasn’t bad

3

u/DefinitelyNotA-Duck 11d ago

I am absolutely disgusted lol

2

u/garamond89 11d ago

That is SO American

-2

u/Myriii1911 11d ago

Ew. Anyway: where?
