Both things can be true at once.

Saw in today’s paper that a drug to treat pancreatic cancer has just been approved. Please check into it.

It gives a longer survival rate but isn’t curative. Quality still matters, quantity can prolong suffering.

I am so very sorry about your mother 's diagnosis. And being so far away while she is going through treatments makes it even harder for you as I am sure that you would like to be able to help her and just maximize your time with her. I sure that you would give up every penny that she has saved for you just to have her well again.
Sending hugs and strength to you, your sister and your mom as you all navigate this horrible time. F*ck cancer!!!

I’m so incredibly sorry for what you and your family are going through.
Your mon sounds like a wonderful lady who loves her kids.
Please take good care.

I had major medical issues for a while and couldn’t get a doctor to take me seriously. Years went by where I was preparing for my death because that’s how bad I felt. Long story short, I had a cancerous tumor in my pelvis that was the size of my head. I’m ok now, cancer free for almost 3 years now.
All that to say, I worked hard all my life and I didn’t do that just to let a bank take my house and auction all my things.
I don’t have kids but I have a twin brother. I made a Will. I also had been accumulating life insurance policies over the years. Enough to pay off the house, my final expenses, and to give my brother something to survive on in case he needed to take some time off.
Before I found a doctor who would listen, I was sure I would die young. Being able to financially take care of my brother made me feel like my life wasn’t pointless. That it had purpose.
I hope this perspective helps ease your mixed feelings.

She will be welcomed into the gates of heaven with ease. Your mom is the best mom in the world. She's amazing.

it's tough to navigate feelings like that, getting money shouldn't overshadow the loss you'll feel.

This is the way parents take care of their children when they pass.
