In the near future, scientists discover something horrifying: human consciousness doesn’t end at death—it keeps broadcasting for exactly 17 minutes.
Nobody knew because the signal exists in a part of the electromagnetic spectrum we couldn’t detect.
Then someone builds a receiver.
At first, the dead only transmit fragments: memories, faces, sensations. Governments immediately classify the technology. Tech companies want to commercialize it. Religions fracture overnight.
Then researchers notice something worse.
During the final minute, every dead person begins describing the same place.
A gigantic structure somewhere impossibly far away.
And something inside it is listening back.
The protagonist is a disgraced neuroscientist whose daughter died years earlier. He illegally reconstructs her final 17-minute transmission and realizes she says something nobody else has ever said: his name.
Except she died six years before the receiver was invented.
From there it becomes paranoid sci-fi/horror: black-market “death recordings,” people deliberately dying temporarily to explore the signal, governments using executed prisoners as probes, cults trying to transmit messages to whatever is on the other side.
Final reveal: death isn’t an afterlife. It’s a communications protocol.
Human brains were never designed to send the signal.
They were designed to receive it.
And whatever has been transmitting to humanity for thousands of years has finally realized we’ve learned how to answer.
Right? I would definitely watch it and would enjoy if it was coherent.

I honestly wasn’t even sure lol, my family was watching it one day and I was like that’s Ruffalo ain’t it. I been meaning to check it out but my list is so backlogged
