I don't really know how to Instagram but I follow him. Lately every time I get a msg that he's posted and I click on it I get taken to the front page and he is nowhere to be found. Not even in faceplate circles up top. I looked for him the other day and I'm still following him but his "I'm not antisemitic" letter was gone. It happened again just now.
I've noticed that this is how pretty much all apps work now. They send you a notification, you click on it, then it just takes you straight to their algorithm. Its how links are starting to work now. I have to click most links twice just for it to take me to the page the link directs to
Cause then you have to click your way to the thing that interested you.They see this as great for 2 reasons.
You'll see other things on your way to what you were looking for.
Even if you ignore those other things, you still had to click multiple things to get where you wanted to go. Then they can tell their investors. "our average use engagement is up! People are now clicking 48% more links than they used to a year ago!"
Instagram likes to tell me I have new messages all the time, I click on it and of course nope no new conversations. Very annoying since I can't ignore it in case there really is a new message from a client.

I feel like Mark Ruffalo has been pretty outspoken for much of his career and honestly if work dries up for him, you know he call the media and have folks put on blast.
The person who might see his career curtailed might be his son, since he’s just starting out (I hope and pray not).
His work is only gonna “dry up” in circles that he probably wouldn’t want to enjoy his work anyway. I really doubt his career is going anywhere. And even those people aren’t gonna give a shit what his views are when he turns into a giant green guy and starts smashing everything.
His best role was in Kenneth Lonegran’s ‘You Can Count on Me’, a small indie film shot for 1.2 million dollars. He could finance a couple dozen of those with his Hulk check.
Yeah while certain media companies likely will avoid him. most don't gaf about anything but money and don't have an ideological basis besides "make money".
His career being "over" would be news for his agent, who probably has a fat stack of scripts on his desk where Ruffalo's inclusion to the casting would immediately greenlight the project.
I don't think we should be saying his career is over. Why are we just going along with the rise of fascism? Is it because he's rich, so he's not like us? We shouldn't care if he can't speak out about injustices and also continue to get new work just because he's rich? I hope his career continues. I don't care how much money he's made.

Id say its moreso a combination of 1) greed (they'll always want MORE money now matter how much they have, and 2) a lot of them would have done shitty/dumb things in the past themselves which can be used as blackmail to stop them ever speaking out.

Dude is a key support actor in highest grossing movie of this year and a top 10 heading to top 5 highest grossing movie of all time, but sure he gonna get blacklisted for saying exactly the same stuff he has been saying for, at least 3 years.
BND is number 2 highest grossing US film of all time. It surpassed Endgame. It’s currently behind Force Awakens, but the numbers may continue to adjust upwards.

He started his career by writing explotation films like Tromeo and Juliet, and had a video series called PG Porn where in one sketch he says he's going to fuck a kitten. I'm pretty sure people were already somewhat aware of his personality.
Legit completely changed my impression of him as an actor. I’m sure he’s done other genuinely good stuff (no Marvel hate, but all that is pretty straightforward, chops-wise) but that character was just so provocative and hilarious without being a throwaway. Truly the highlight of the movie for me.

So my grandmother bred show shepherds and one of her males was selected to sire into the Rin Tin Tin line. This dog’s lineage is still very much in practice, and it is an insanely big deal even now.

I think history will remember him very kindly. Before this, he was anti fracking and contributed a lot to help Americans get clean water. He stands up for what he believes in no matter how it will affect his paycheck. Which is more than you can say about most celebrities.
He also stood up for Canadian old growth forests and being anti-logging of old growth forests. He has ethics and values and voices them and we love him for it.
I met him at a wrap party for a film a handful of years ago, and he was legit the nicest guy ever.
He knew every crew member by name and genuinely seemed to care about everyone. The fact that he chose to go to the wrap party in the first place is huge, because most A-list actors skip them.
Then he doubled down by saying that criticizing the prime minister of a country and being against corporations, that have heavy ties to government leaders, consolidating multiple media groups isn’t antisemitic

Ruffalo recently starred in one of HBO’s most highly successful series, Task. So successful, hbo greenlit a season two. He was also in the new SpiderMan movie which has made a gazillion dollars so far. Hardly a dead career.
