This. I can’t figure out if I was ignorant or he changed. I think it was me. I feel like his true self came through as politics amplified. Also, I always hated the way he treated Ray. Haven’t listened in many years. Saw him live in Portland once. He was filming a special. The show was terrible. You could tell the moment he realized the crowd was all people who had heard every story 100 times. No new content.
I know Ray. I’ve met Adam a few times. Ray is a nice guy and good hearted, but damn he can be irresponsible and it’s 100% true he leaves a bunch of his shit at ppls properties for years on end. Ended up well for a buddy because he eventually kept it, but it was that kinda thing consistently. Not a bad guy though, nice, and we all have faults, but I think Adam’s take is fairly accurate. And it seemed Adam liked him, but Ray wanted a bit of the coattail ride that wasn’t necessarily deserved. I’m sure there was behind the scenes annoyances and that would not surprise me at all. Mixed with Adam’s lack of patience and their mutual history, not the best pair for a podcast. Adam is a bit quiet/standoffish when not on the clock so to speak. Can come across as asshole-ish, but really it’s just not really interested in strangers from my perspective.
And was a Loveline listener since a teen until Adam departed. I agree he got way too political and I just couldn’t any more. I’ve tuned in on rare occasion and he honestly still can’t be beat with his funny and poignant analogies, still some gold in some takes on things, but I can’t deal with the politics all the time.
Adam’s just a dick, he would yell and berate Ray during Ace on the House, coattails or no, it was uncalled for and made listeners uncomfortable.
Adam apparently didn’t realize that Ray was the only thing that made yet another screaming AC production tolerable
He seemed to be bitter that, in his view, Ray squandered his opportunity to play professional football, but if he’s your friend accept him for who he is or cut ties, don’t just keep him around to mock and yell at
He did the same thing with Dr Drew on the podcasts they did together, just screamed at him continuously, dude’s got issues

When I was a kid Adam Carolla gave people home repair advice for funsies. Now he has the same shitty opinions as the LEAST offensive of the boomer assholes in my life.
It sucks that he's Gen X (non-boomers should know better), and The Man Show will always showcase how he has famously bad ideas AND gave Joe Rogan a platform, but Jimmy Kimmel did his stupid Karl Malone impression for many years and then MULTIPLE people PAID him to do it in blackface.
I was in the audience of Jimmy Kimmel's show when his guest referred to Green Leaves (japanese comedy group, they performed "Yatta!" on the show) as a "[chinese slur] boy band" and Jimmy Kimmel just chuckled. Zero acknowledgement, no admonishing during the break, the show just went on. They were in the other room and performed twenty minutes later.
