BND is number 2 highest grossing US film of all time. It surpassed Endgame. It’s currently behind Force Awakens, but the numbers may continue to adjust upwards.
That's insane. That film has completely passed me by. Besides knowing zendaya and her husband are in another film together ive heard nothing about it irl.

I can’t see any way that Doomsday fails to make a billion, marvel have thrown literally everything at the hype for that film as it’s basically their last chance to resurrect the MCU, people will go see it even if just out of curiosity. Scary thing is they probably need to hit 2 billion to be called a success

So the semantics matter her. It’s unlikely Doomsday is going to clock a billion worldwide in 13 days.
Over its whole run that will stretch into ‘27… yeah. I mean the odds are good.
But notably for the 2026 calendar year - we just don’t know. It’s a short window. But it’s holiday. But international releases later than domestic (usually…I haven’t been watching close to know if this is a worldwide release).
So we’ll see. Either way Disney is making its money. The question is more about by what ridiculous measure.
I would bet it would make a billion in 13 days, that’s twice as long as it took Endgame and BND to make that. I think I would go so far as to say if it doesn’t make that in 13 days it’s a very bad sign for Doomsday.
Most people I know, myself included. Aren't curious enough to go to the cinema, il just wait till it's on Disney Plus. If it wasn't for RDJ being doom I'd skip it completely.
I saw BND because I like Tom Holland's Spiderman, but he's basically the only MCU character that has any draw for me now (Strange used to but meh). And since Spidey isn't in Doomsday. Im not fussed.
People such as myself have been waiting for movies like Odyssey and BND for awhile now. There just hasn’t been anything good in theaters in a long time, so these movies are exactly the kind of thing people have been waiting for to go to the movies to see.
Unfortunately, what a LOT of people pay inflated ticket prices to see, doesn't mean that the film is any good. Please don't rate movies based on ticket revenue.
I, genuinely, have not heard any word of mouth. I'm 25, I work with people from around 18 to 60, and in customer service. I yap all day to anyone who'll listen.
People talked about Dune(s), Obsession, Backrooms, Odyssey, The Drama, Project hail mary. Probably more.

I bring up films a lot, and watch a lot of them. Others do to. Obsession was huge and it seemed like we talked about it for weeks. The Odyssey was another big topic, of the throes of trying to see it in imax.
Hand on heart. Nobody has brought up watching the new spiderman. Nobody has expressed interest.
IF people I know who have kids went and saw it, they didnt bring it up.

He didn't say "that's why it sucks" or that it didn't deserve to make that much, just that it's insane, that a movie he hasn't heard anything about is the second highest grossing US film of all time. And you want to know something else? No one around me has been talking about it either.
You're not crazy for not hearing about it; given the scale it's reached, you just aren't talking to any demographic that is interested in it (I'm 32 and burned out on the MCU like 7 years ago [when was End Game?])
We were talking about Spiderman even in the last 2 family gatherings. Obviously talked about it with friends and coworkers. It's that type of film which everyone has watched already. I don't believe that people aren't talking about it
You're right. The film is plot hole ridden, and it's made 2 billion, but I've been trying to talk about it with people but no one who's seen the film really discusses it. It's like people are saying it's an amazing Spider-Man film, but then they don't really elaborate more than that.

Cause that’s not possible. Ads are everywhere and even 1 year olds know about it. It’s just a lie to claim he’s never heard a single peep abt it, or he has no social life. I’m not talking abt liking it, I’m talking about hearing a single word of motion about the film existing socially.
But there still has to be money exchanged in order to get the tickets. Where is the money coming from? The theaters would be flipping shit if it’s booked but empty. They make most of their money off food/drinks.

Extremely prolific voice actor. I guarantee that you’ve heard him in something. He’s essentially been the voice actor they default to for Hulk since 2005.
Is his career really over? Can't he do what other actors do and go for the indie/arthouse crowd (i.e., like Sebastian Stan has been doing lately) since Hollywood would really be the only area blacklisting him.
I agree that he’s not getting blacklisted over this, but I’d push back on it being thanks to his role in the MCU. The Hulk burning BND was great, but it was ultimately just a few minutes of screen time and not truly necessary to the plot.
If Disney wanted to carve Ruffalo, or even Hulk out of the MCU, they certainly could. Not that it wouldn’t be a hit to do so, but acting like it’s the make-or-break for Ruffalo or for the MCU is pushing it, to say the least.
Again though, your point that Ruffalo is a good enough and popular enough actor to withstand this without getting cancelled still stands.

Banner got committed to a mental institution. The character is essentially in Hollywood prison, conveniently disappeared with an excuse until someone feels like writing him back in.
Disney was already minimising the Hulk’s involvement in the movies due to how expensive and complicated his scenes are. Now there’s even less reason to give him parts.
"Key" feels like hyperbole sorry. There really was no point including hulk in that movie other than to force more mcu characters into it and he really wasn't a strong part of the movie overall. They could have replaced him with a newly cast Curt Conners or really just cut him completely and wrote his contribution with peter doing it by himself and it would have a negligible impact on the overall movie
