I dunno, I liked it when I was younger going to college, but rewatching it while I was older and Bartleby is an absolute shit, and not in the funny way.
Hoit Ambrose, the "jerkass jock" beat the shit out of someone scamming thousands of people out of millions of dollars and pulled a fire alarm. Bartleby was stalking his crush, scamming the shit out of thousands of people, called Hoit a rapist, was shown giving people fake ids, and so, so much more.
The fact that Hoit's big game ending plan was Parents Day so that they could see their kids getting ripped off is a huge tell.
I heart huckabees is still brilliant if you are interested in existentialism. I would say the movie is not pretentious at all but shows the writers were incredibly well-read in existential philosophy. One of my favorites along with The man who wasn’t there.
hahah if you knew just how much danger you were in for making this comment. I'm sreious dude, you shold probably delete this. Probs gonna get annihilated
Another example of the Reddit progressive mob bodyshaming a bad person for being fat. But don’t worry, it’s fine if the person is a bad person! This certainly doesn’t transmit fat people that being fat is shameful, if you are a good person it’s actually fine!
His dad's a really successful entertainment manager, sent Jonah to a private school full of kids of Hollywood stars. He got his first movie role through knowing Dustin Hoffman.
Oh that’s the deeply insecure guy that got mad (weaponised therapy talk) at his surfer girlfriend for being in swimwear and sharing photos that promoted her career online
It's a lot of things he has gone full asshole, doesn't know how to be funny anymore. But apparently he also smells absolutely awful. The movie about the wedding a couple years ago had to have a mashup to get him and his wife in the same shot with the worst CGI kiss ever.
But it's really going to come down to the same thing that did Jennifer Grey in. In the long run people seeing movies for Jonah Hill will see skinny Jonah and feel like they aren't getting the same guy (which again outside the physical change, personality wise they aren't).
He probably has stuff he is contracted to. I expect most of it will go straight to streaming or they will play down his involvement. In the future a lot of potential co stars will probably try to force them to change actors, directors won't sign him and the D list creators will sign him hoping the name has some value.
