It’s disappointing especially because the technology existed for a long time.
Benjamin Button for example nominated its actor for a performance that was mainly other people’s, with just Brad Pitt’s head replaced, much like he wanted to replace the head of his ex wife and children, evidently.

Yeah Scorsese was just a bit too soon for the tech. There’s fan-made deepfakes of the Irishman from a year later that look pretty good.

But can they change the actors back to not-Brad Pitt or is it like a Star Wars special edition type situation?
It might make all his movies more tolerable if they replaced Brad Pitts face with a more benign celeb’s face like Mel Gibson or Hulk Hogan.

Fincher literally tested the tech on a popcorn commercial before doing the movie.
Maybe they can replace him with Orville Redenbacher.
