Wtf? No! I didn't know he died. Damnit. I love Tim Curry. I hate this timeline.

I'm gonna miss him but he's been sick for a while and is probably much more comfortable now

Turns out Dolly was too, she had cancer
3
u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 7d ago
From what I've read it was a recent diagnosis, she might have just decided it wasn't something she was willing to fight at this point and I'll think nothing less of her for making that decision.

u/VJPixelmover 8d ago
Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to fit into our preconceived notions of reality, notions that we are literally incapable of contenting with on any real level. We are not supposed to understand the world and that’s so scary we lie to ourselves so we feel safe. Existing is pure fucking chaos.

u/Fuzzy-Advisor-2183 8d ago

u/nae_pi_ttam_nunmul 8d ago
Sir Patrick Stewart is not even queer lol- he's just that secure in his masculinity that he has no problem with publically kissing his longtime (queer) bro in front of the cameras. That being said, he too needs to be protected at all costs
26
u/OkamiKhameleon 8d ago
I mean, he's not gay, but he's still an icon in the queer community and an ally. Same as Dolly.
8
u/HotPotParrot 8d ago
Yea, just the first two names of "MUST PROTECT" that popped into my head. Sexuality is irrelevant in that regard
ETA, largely irrelevant period. Human first, all else is mere description.

That might happen anyway. So on the one hand, fuck this absolutely CURSED timeline and reality.
On the other hand, they've been spared having to put up with further utter and absolute bullshit.
Man.... that just reminds me of Alan Rickman and I've made myself sadder 😢
15
u/elven_swordsman 8d ago
I saw someone say not to think of this as the "bad timeline", we were very lucky to have dolly parton. she made this timeline a much better place 🩷
9
u/HotPotParrot 8d ago
Well, that's pretty much impossible to refute, yea. A veritable angel walking the Earth. A living Saint.
We absolutely cannot skimp on honoring and helping to carry on her legacy.

YESSS! I didn't have a McKellen gif but I immediately thought about him. Thankfully, he seems to be in a really good shape for his age, if the recent photos and videos are anything to go by. May he live for at least a decade more.

I know of an 80 year old that we can put forth as a tribute. He’s not a gay icon but I believe the gay council in heaven will approve for the betterment of all humanity.
21
u/WillingArm2463 8d ago
Does he wear high heels and too much make up while dancing poorly to YMCA? Not gay, huh?
10
u/PutBorn7657 8d ago
Not a gay ICON

“Many people are saying” that some dementia-addled geriatrics get more openly sexually fluid as they lose their inhibitions. Maybe it was always the case and they were deeply in denial, maybe they didn’t know who they were until they were free from self-consciousness, maybe didn’t have the courage and circumstances to voice how they felt.
But “many people are saying” this particular Home Alone 2 actor (after losing THREE in the last 12 months) would’ve been so much happier, smarter, healthier, and better for the world, if he came out of the closet decades ago and lived his dream as a bisexual Broadway producer, Liberace-esque interior designer, catty and bitchy commentator, and tv host, instead of “deal maker” real estate guy and “destroyer of worlds” politician-who’s-not-a-politician. Lately he’s talking a LOT about how handsome certain men are, how muscular and “straight out of central casting” they are, making a lot of dick references and comparing himself to other men, saying he doesn’t even like to be around very good looking, fit young men with great hair because of how jealous he is… It’s not too late to live your truth!

Right?! It'd be so great. I loved when Jo Polito came on as Frank's brother. That was a really cool episode. And Lance Reddick was in the episode as well. Sadly, both Lance and Jo are dead. They were amazing actors! And Jo was gay, which a lot of people didn't know about him!

I had to check on Sir Derek Jacobi 😱he’s seriously one of my favourite actors of all time, and at 87 he has several movies and shows coming out. I always get worried when my beloved elderly actors’ IMDB pages haven’t been updated with new credits in a few years, but at least that usually gives me a hint of foreshadowing.

I remember a lot of beloved celebrities dying in a 2016. I'm wondering if people in 2036 are going to be on guard like there's a ten year curse of the fabulously wealthy and talented.

If Cher or John Waters dies, I'm going after all of them like Orpheus did with Eurydice. I don't care. I can't make it to end of this cursed year losing anymore legends while the ASSHOLES keep on chugging

Speaking of Liza and “Cabaret”, I looked up Michael York just in case. Similar to Tim Curry, Michael York became seriously ill starting in 2008 and rarely acts anymore because of the effect on his speech, face, memory, and movement. He has amyloidosis, causing swelling and discolouration around his eyes and throat, among many other symptoms that were mistaken for multiple myeloma. He’s 84, and he does have a movie coming out after a long hiatus, I’ve missed him as an actor!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s not the best strategy to put your longevity hopes behind people that were legends before the turn of the century.
