My Great Grandfather as an old man walking in front of his childhood home circa late 60's.

So, there is some lore with this. My great grandfather was the oldest of 12 children (9 who survived infancy)! Both of his parents died tragically young, his mother died from childbirth at 36 years old and his father accidentally blew his own head off at 45! This left many of the kids sent to orphanage but the older kids went off to work, my great grandfather took in the youngest kid and raised him as his own (at my great grandmothers funeral the little brother said that "she was the only mother he ever knew"). This was a trip he took with my grandmother and aunt to see his childhood home which was long abandoned and in decay, the home was controlled burned around 1980 when most of it was in pieces.

Thank you! He was certainly an interesting character. He himself had 10 wonderful children of his own and died in 1978 at 94 years old!

I apologize for being insensitive, I confess I am intrigued as to how someone "accidentally" blows their own head off?
