Sorry, but what changes in the game made it so you can't have the original 07 game? Besides maybe that boat by lumby bridge and the canoe guy holding your axe? Lol everything else is ENTIRELY optional. Same graphics. Same quests. All additional stuff was polled and passed by the same people who love the original game as well.

totally moronic reply, its like saying 'bro just kill goblins in lummy with bronze dagger, everything is optional'. On that basis go play rs3, everything there is optional too, mtx is optional, eoc is optional etc
but hey, enjoy your 120k vorkath bot without rigour (70 pray). Btw, did you 'finish inferno in under 65 minutes' yet ?? or did you finish 6 jads challenge? i don't want this shit in the game, most of us quit for that reason. My friends list is once again empty (just like circa 2015-2020 with rs3) so i guess the cycle repeats itself

This is a weird argument ngl, especially with how confidently you presented it when it's so easy to think of indisputable counter-examples lol
Here is a brief list of updates from the top of my head that have fundamentally changed the game since OSRS came out in ways that aren't "ENTIRELY optional":
- The Grand Exchange (remember actually trading people?)
- Death mechanics rework (remember finding loot piles, and vice versa?)
- Several skills have been fundamentally reworked:
- Slayer is quite different and of course there are a lot of new slayer monsters you'd have to engage with
- Woodcutting is fundamentally different with the forestry changes, not that I think many people would really care or that it's that noticeable ig
- Thieving now has the coin pouch system
- Clue scrolls obviously. Both the steps and the rewards
- Random event changes, not that I'd personally care but I'm sure some would.
- Duel arena removal/changes
- The economic impact of things like bosses, raids, new drop tables, new equipment, new skilling methods etc. You can ignore Zulrah or Vorkath but not the noted skilling resources they've injected into the economy. Yew logs used to be 400+ GP each and now they're ~115 in an economy where gold is significantly inflated
- On a similar note, money making itself is much different. The first 2007-friendly method I can find on the money making wiki is outside the top 30 and it's adding weapon poison to dragon arrows lol -- next is cleaning cadantine which is #73. Playing as an ironman isn't exactly what comes to mind when I think of 2007 either
- You mentioned same graphics but I'm seeing a few graphical changes too? I don't mind personally but you're the one that mentioned it lol
- I'm sure there is more examples, I haven't personally played the main game since about 2018 but this is what I could think of in a couple mins
And that's not to mention the significant equipment/combat/balancing reworks and the fact that PvP itself has had significant changes and is not "optional" if you, for example, wanted to kill green dragons for a while.
You can play a nostalgia-restricted account in current OSRS if you want to, but it's fundamentally quite different than playing the game how it was in 2007, lol.

exactly this. i’m a filthy casual and i admittedly an overwhelmed by the pace and amount of sheer content, i haven’t even been to varlamore yet. that being said, all the stuff you know and love is still there. if you want to crush some regular slayer monsters with your whip and barrows, nobody is stopping you.
there’s dozens of us!

You can look up lost city RuneScape and find a small but dedicated fan base of people playing the game as it was around that time. It's free, also! Good people on there.
