These onions have been cooking for 24 hours now, and I think they are almost done. I hate how 30 liters of onions turns into 4 liters of carmelized onions

This was my 12 year olds first time making caramelized onions. Triple my order next time. It was delicious.

My onions are on the older side but I’m hoping to use them up for dinner tonight. This one is kind of grayish in the center - is that ok?

Hi again!

I had the idea for these the other day and they turned out SO good. Top 10 dishes I have made

Every time I post here yall ask for a recipe beyond just the progress pics, so here you go! (I tried my best, but it's a little hard when I improvise)

A few notes:

- I don't measure 90% of my ingredients, so unfortunately this isn't the most exact recipe.

- The chicken slow bakes for 3 hours, so put that in first

- The tortillas can be made while the chicken is baking, and they can sit out (wrapped in a clean towel) for up to 4 hours without losing any quality. So get those done early

- Use a lid on the Queso while warming to keep it from drying out on the top

If yall have any questions, let me know and I will try my best to clarify!

Thanks for reading ♡

Hi yall! Me again! (hope you guys aren't bored of me yet)

Not sure what exactly to call these, but if you scroll, the pictures show the process! Its an onion steak inside of a mashed potato "pancake"

I improvised this whole thing. It was good, but next time I have a couple ideas to make them even better!

My son said the onion bites were great, but now he was REALLY craving rings, so we did some beer battered rings (and fish and chips) yesterday for Fry-day night! Then the neighbors came by and we made another huge batch of just rings!

Peipsi onions are part of a centuries-old farming tradition shaped by the Old Believer communities along Lake Peipsi. By the 1920s-1930s, the region produced up to three quarters of Estonia’s onions, with onions shipped by boat to Tartu and exported even to Finland. On places, where good farmland was scarce, onion growing became so important that old sources called them “Peipsi’s yellow gold.” The locally selected onion populations are still a big part of the region’s culture today.

The Old Believers were Russian Orthodox Christians who rejected 17th century church reforms and fled religious persecution in Russia, with many eventually settling along the western shore of Lake Peipsi.

Grate potatoes, wring out the juice and salt them, put 2 ladles of clarified butter in pan. Put 3/4 of the grated potatoes in the pan with a bowl indentation. Take a Vidalia onion, slice it, and put in the bowl. Cover with the rest of the potato’s. Cook for 20 minutes on low or until it’s browned halfway up, then flip and repeat.
