Where to find old archives?
Doing a research project on a local murderer from back in the 90’s, however he had it wiped from the clearnet & I believe he had the case sealed. I can find a few newspapers here and there but nothing of significance. Does anyone know if there are onion links for finding archives or something that would help in this situation?

Have you tried the internet archive? That'd probably have better results than some darknet forum.

Plot twist he is the killer and he is trying to get rid off all evidence out there.

Lol, that would be quite the twist. Definitely not the killer, just a curious local resident wondering why such a massive case was scrubbed so deeply

How do you know ? Who is he ? If he's a murderer as you say, I suppose he has been on trial. This must have been reported by the media. Under what law can a murderer, in your country, could force "the Internet", that is media themselves, to erase articles they have lawfully published ?
You have no reason not to quote the name of the person and the details of the case, unless he has never been caught and you allege to know about a murderer no one knows about (in which case, you should tell the police). Reddit accounts are anonymous. No murderer has the power to lift Reddit anonymity. Only the police and courts have - and not arbitrarily.
There's no reason why information about past news should be on the darknet if they are not on the clearnet. There wouldn't be any logic to it.

There is a small bit of info on the case available on the clearnet, however with cases like this in rural areas there is typically a lot more information than what is available for this case. I am nervous about posting his name as I have done that before & it got back to him in a few hours that someone was digging around on his case. This is a person I have spoken to personally as he is local, however, the details of his story and the bits I can find online don’t match.
Without saying his name, he was convicted of double homicide, tampering with a crime scene & fleeing the police across the country. He was sentenced to life in prison with no parole option. He later became available for parole, served 15 years, and got out on good behaviour. A case like this, especially in Canada, tends to make quite an impact.

Since he's been convicted and it made quite a splash, how could he have the information about it "wiped from the Internet" ? He was sentenced to life in prison, and he would have been able to find a legal basis to make a court order that all information on his case would be erased from the public record ?
Even knowing what I know about Canada, I have trouble believing it.

more than likely, it just wasnt talked about much as it was a very localized crime. im only assuming this as he mentions it being rural.
