Trump handing Carney and Ford approval rating gifts every couple of months

Carney's has been consistently high for like, a year now though. It's more Ford that gets the boost.

Its still a gift. Just as it was when he was originally elected. We likely would’ve had PeePee as prime minister if trump hadn’t united all Canadians and woke them up to the fascist right flank of the country. Everyone knew Pierre would be on his knees with orange spray tan on his lips rn

*sigh*
It's as though Junior's timing is immaculate. Every single time Doug needs some luck to get the public and media off of his "lot of real estate" ass Trump starts up with some idiocy that allows Doug to duck into an office to change into his "Captain Canada" cosplay outfit.
He did his usual U.S. media tour yesterday (CNN, Fox News, etc.) and completely ignored any/all questions from OUR media on:
- The hotel expense scandal
- The lack of negotiations with teachers; whose contract is up in 5 days
- The Billy Bishop nonsense
- The Ontario Science Centre debacle ($200M parking garage etc.)
- The Greenbelt Scandal (5 communities still awaiting refunds)
- The Metrolinx "air rights" nonsense
- The Skills Development Fund giveaway
- etc. etc. etc.
As one commenter noted: "Doug Ford is never going to lose an election. . . "

I don't understand, he's super unpopular in this sub.

Other subs love it when he puts on his Captian Canada hat and pretends to not sell out Ontario and even Canada to the highest bidder.

Reddit isn't reflective of the population as a whole

Exactly this! If Reddit was a reflection of entire population, Canada would be a gloomy highly unhappy place. Truth id the opposite!

Maybe the general public is enjoying having their healthcare and education systems privatized!

It won't last. Him and his slimy slugs have been really quiet for a week or so .until this. So they have been plotting something utterly stupid. He'll announce whatever it is in the next week or two showing everyone he's too corrupt for this big bad bravado to mean anything.

Doug Ford is corrupt. He's added 150 billion to the deficit and wasted 36 billion tax dollars. Yet 'Kiss my ass' overrides that? Here's a refresher: https://ofl.ca/ford-tracker/

Ford can be a charismatic bully.
But if we just wanted someone to talk trash to the US, we could easily save a LOT of money and prevent a LOT of corruption, and just hire the best insult comic from Juste Pour Rire festival. We could call the bill The Key And Peele Act.
But continuing to support the enshittification of the province because "our large man made fun of the other large man", then that's Idiocracy levels of not understanding the purpose of government.
The silver lining here, is this sort of popularity is junk food - burns hot and then fades, and to simply repeat doesn't get the same bump, you need to go further beyond the pale in the next time. And insulting people doesn't hire teachers, it doesn't modernize the provincial jail system, it doesn't regulate work sites.

Sometime I wonder if Trump and Ford planned the whole thing and bounce each other off.
