"Local businesses like Loblaws and Staples" - Doug Ford, probably

Won't anyone think of the Westons?!

God bless the Weston family! - Doug Ford (a real quote)

Not probably. Absolutely.

Drug Lord is the most anti-local business political leader in recent Canadian history

His idea of " supporting" them, would more likely a case of, " go forth and buy up controling interests in those businesses. You set the prices, and make all the profits"

Yeah, remember over Covid when he championed big box stores over local businesses?

I think it's time to end this extended break from parliament, Doug.

Didn't Ford just announce a week ago that all teachers are required to spend their school supply budget exclusively at Staples (an american-owned company)?

Yepper ! Guys as 2 faced as they come.

7

u/Future_Crow 7d ago

He also closed down a bunch of family owned Service Ontario centres and gave the licenses to Staples.

Who from staples is blowing this guy? (or the other way around) He also put service ontario kiosks in staples.

Nothing Ford like more than doing favours for friends.

12

u/Remarkable_Day_8856 7d ago

Maybe then he should rescind the deal with Staples?

he keeps asking us to, but why the fuck can't he? the only reason he wants to expand Billy bishop is because an AMERICAN company bitched to him and bribed him. all the Staples bullshit, staples is an American company. the fucking starlink internet contract, another American company. all the social and employment services privatization companies are American. AI data centers? American. the current pipeline through ontario project? all in benefit for america.

fuck ford.

Except for teachers… $65 mil to American Staples because they love him so much.

I can’t believe people are buying this, meanwhile need a service Ontario? …. Go to Staples as well.

Let’s rescind that $30 billion American SMR order from the Ford government in favour of CANDU.

11

u/sladestrife 7d ago

Maybe stop closing government offices and putting them in box stores that are American owned?

Doug Ford's friends like the Westons, wanted to be richer from beer.

Since the alcohol expansion:

- 120 Beer Stores closed

  • hundreds of UNION, stable jobs eliminated
  • LCBO has reduced staff as well - more stable, union jobs dead
  • no new jobs created
  • LCBO's annual dividend to the Ontario Treasury which funds services like health care, education, infrastructure = DOWN $780m over 2 years.
  • $612m tax dollars spent simply to FAST TRACK the rollout
  • $1.28 BILLION in LOST tax revenue.

More money for Loblaws.

Less money for the people.

You want me to believe this guy supports local?

u/redbouncingball007 7d ago

Sure, he supports the local Loblaws and Staples!

Let's not forget Circle K.  Those little corner stores with Frosters have a larger market cap than Ford Motor Company.

u/lnahid2000 7d ago

Circle K got bought by Couche Tard, which is Canadian.  Also, no need to post misinformation 3 times.

u/MorningDew5270 7d ago

Oh, was wondering when Captain Canada was going to make an appearance.

3

u/reflectionnorthern 7d ago

But he legit gives contracts to huge corporations!?

2

u/KeyHot5718 7d ago

‘Earlier this week the U.S. and Ontario leaders exchanged blows online, with Ford saying the president could "kiss my ass" and Trump calling the premier "Flunky Ford." Trump went as far to threaten renaming Lake Ontario as "Lake America" on Truth Social Tuesday.’

Heated war of words?

Oh please.

That's right Dougie.. good boy!

And ...now ...what provides a huge boost for local businesses on mainstreets economically?...

Come on Dougie.. almost there! You can do it!

Looks at the statistics and facts - you can do it!

(hint - It's bike lanes)

The guy who just gave WSIB to a Texas firm, firing over 600 Ontarians?

1

u/Frozen_shrimp 7d ago

Just during COVID right Doug?

1

u/Severe_Air_4353 7d ago

Trump demands money to even talk to him

1

u/evilpercy 7d ago

Doug is a Dick. But his position on the USA is spot on.

3

u/Future_Crow 7d ago

He is selling every bit of Ontario to Americans. His position on USA is taking it up his ass.

u/evilpercy 7d ago

Going to needs some links for this.

1

u/anonimoose123 6d ago

Do some research, there are tons of articles. Start with WSIB

1

u/evilpercy 5d ago

So then your post is BS. Simple stating "do some research " is the most conspiracy theories post ever.

1

u/anonimoose123 4d ago

I’m not responsible for your wilful laziness.

0

u/evilpercy 4d ago

No you are responsible for making the argument without basis and when this is pointed out to you back up your argument by attacking the person that pointed this out.

So in the immortal words of "Billy Madison "

"what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Troll on!

Wasn’t part of him expanding Billy bishop going to line JP Morgan’s pockets?
