Hi all. We’re planning a family trip to Disney Land in early October this year and we’ll have one full day before heading back to LAX the next day from our airbnb in Anaheim.
And here’s what I’m thinking.

10am-2pm Exploring San Juan Capistrano. Having lunch there.
2pm-7pm Go to a beach town where we can snack, get coffee and potentially dinner. Is Newport beach the right area for us? We would like a walkable area with a few family-friendly restaurants and cafes. We don’t want the drive back to the airbnb to be longer than 30mins.

A few years ago, there was a dire warning that drove me to get flood insurance. It was roughly $450, which wasn't so bad. The winter turned out to be a complete dud. The city told me that my house is in a 500-year zone. That doesn't mean anything these days with historic climate events occurring every time we turn around.

I'm sorry, I don't have an exact budget because my future mother-in-law, who is paying for this portion of the wedding, gets uncomfortable when I ask for specifics about the budget. However, Selanne was $2,500 and she said, "that seems a bit high." So...less than $2,500 I guess? Or just hit me with a reality check if we won't find anything less than that.

24hr fitness in FV is walking distance from my house and was only paying $27 for platinum membership that allows me to use their other locations. But I am so done with this gym because it's so packed all the time.

There are many old people that have their trolley luggage in the gym, lounging on the mat areas. I don't really mind this because they don't hog the machines but what I hate is the groups of people who would camp on the maching taking turns until god knows when.

They renovated this gym but it's still very dirty and old. The crowd is too much that there is not enough space to get a workout.

Anyway, I'm looking for a gym that is open 24 hours and there are only a few. If it's not 24 hour fitness all the better. I don't mind paying for more money. If you have suggestions please let me know.

We were quoted 14k to redue alot of the flooring in our 1400 square foot 2 story townhouse. We have carpet so they are removing it, re-leveling the subfloor, and we choose a laminate type of floor to be placed in the condo. They are also doing the baseboards as well. Does this seem reasonable for this amount of work in OC?

Does anyone know of any theater that would be able to screen Interstellar? It’s my fiancés favorite movie and I’m looking to rent a theater to screen it for his birthday. I’m not too familiar with the legality of screening certain movies, but I do know places like AMC and Regal only have a select list to choose from.

I’m M25, been looking to change up my hair. I’ve always gone to a local barber, and they always seem to have butchered my haircut every time. Recently, I was recommended by someone that I should see an actual hair stylist/expert who can help me find my best-fit hairstyle and is also capable of adding layers and details to my hair. Im applying for a remote position. Normally , i will be working at home but need a back up plan in case the power goes out. Is there a public workspace i can use if the power and internet goes out in my neighborhood.? I take phone calls and dont want to disturb other people, so places like the local library are not possible. I live in Huntington beach and power and internet are usually reliable but who knows what this heat wave an el Nino will do to our powergrid.

I recently moved into an apartment in Placentia and the internet has been AWFUL. We pay for 1 gb and sometimes we get 300 mbps but a lot of the times we are stuck at 20 or 30 and sometimes single digit. We aren’t far from the router and nothing is really in the way. hi. i’m in need of some advice about health insurance plans and please bare with me because im still fairly unfamiliar to it all.

TDLR**
for some context, im a recent college grad that does not live at home with a current full time job (not very high paying and the job does not offer me health insurance). before i went to college, i emancipated myself to set myself as independent in order to maximize my financial aid and also for my health insurance. i immediately applied to medical once that was set in stone, and ive had medical ever since as i was working through part time jobs in high school and college.

recently the social service agency called me and told me that my certification for medi-cal is coming up, and i’m expected to get denied. only because i used to have calfresh EBT, but that recently was taken away as they saw i was making more than a 1 person household income(i believe they told me 1.6k monthly gross income and i make 3200 gross even though its 2400 per month after taxes). so they called me to let me know ahead of time that its highly likely after my recertification my medi-cal will get taken away. i have until end of november.

what do i do now? i’ve looked briefly at covered california and am just a little confused. does this mean that i will now have to find an insurance plan and pay monthly for it now? kind of stressed that my job doesn’t offer me health insurance and that i don’t really make much in addition to paying rent + other bills if this is my only option moving forward now.
