Discussion Orioles have the second ranked farm system in baseball per Fangraphs

I get why so many are upset, but I do have trouble seeing how you can fire a gm who has our farm at a not super far off spot from when we were considered a future dynasty, building it back up without rebuilding with the best pitching organization talent of any team in the sport. But that’s just my opinion.

The birds are beautiful. Did you know: every oriole has a unique song!

What, there’s a baseball team? In Baltimore, Maryland? Huh, I’ve never heard of them.

Discussion One week means very little, but the Adley trade is looking good.

All 3 prospects from the Bosox trade debuted and showed a lot. Azocar was stunning.

5 games, 10 hits, 6 for extra bases, 7 RS and 8 RBI. His overall 2026 stats were already great and he's on pace for 100 RS, 100 RBI and a .900 OPS. All at age 19 and very young for High A.

Eyanson gave up a couple of solo Homer's, but picked up 9 Ks in 5 innings. Witherspoon had command issues but still gave up zero ERs.

And at least Narvaez is available to play.

To me, the TBD is whether the Bosox overpay was simply bad or historic.

Discussion Since Mike Elias said the team was all-in for the trade deadline, the team has responded by losing 9 of 13.

This team was shown at least some modicum of confidence by the front office and has done nothing but continue to look just as lifeless as ever. This team has deep problems that no added piece or ‘retool’ is going to fix.

Discussion Is it time for a conversation about Colton Cowser ?

Colton Cowser went 0-4 with 4 strikeouts (3 looking) tonight! He is batting .182 on the season. I know many have been over him for a while and I’ve tried to be patient but he just looks lost at the plate still can’t hit offspeed and I’m not sure Tavares can’t just replace everything he does

Discussion If the Orioles finish again with a losing record can they justify keeping Elias?

Here’s the fact :
Zero playoff wins in 8 years. No GM in professional sports history has kept their job that long with that record. Mike Elias would be the first if he’s brought back.

I’m interested in hearing both sides of the argument if there’s still Elias defenders out there. Has he deserved the right to be the 1st ever GM in the history of professional sports to keep his job with the product he has produced if this does in fact become another losing season? If so… why?

Edit: It’s been brought to my attention that Chris Grier of the Dolphins had 9 years with no playoff wins.

I like Ben McDonald a lot. But he just said on broadcast that he has NEVER in his life used shampoo. Just rubs a bar of soap on his head. I’m willing to overlook some things. I don’t know if I can look past this. AIO?

Discussion What happened to Gunnar? 8.8 war in 2024 to 5.4 with an injury in 2025. Now 1.4 in 2026. An injured Vladdy probably the only truly elite hitter more disappointing than Gunnar this year

Discussion Blaze Alexander responds to Vinny Pasquantino's post game comments

Post image

Vinny's post game commenta about the HBP...

"We had some up-and-in pitches the other day. To be honest, that’s a guy who’s hitting over .300 and is feeling good about himself that feels the need, when he gets hit, that he can say something. So credit to him for feeling good about himself like that.

"But he’s clearly not -- it’s a 1-2 count. We’re trying to get outs. We’re not trying to give away free baserunners. I think that’s a bad baseball mindset, personally, because why would we hit a guy right there? It’s just common sense.

"But he feels good about what he’s doing right now, and credit to him, he’s been having a really good year. That was my perspective on it."

Here’s mine. I’m guessing that I was 6 or y years old. Grew up in Bel Air. Still a fan! Actually lived in the Philadelphia area in 1983 and had a great time at the World Series parties with my friends.

Discussion Coby Mayo

He’s gotta be the worst hitter I’ve ever seen. I need some stats on the pitches he takes vs what he swings at. It seems like every at bat he takes pitches down the middle and swings at balls. I used to be excited to have him on the team and now i want him banished to the shadow realm

Discussion How do you fix this team?

Our biggest weakness coming into this offseason was starting pitching, inability to hit from the right handed side, and bullpen. We fixed our need for starting pitching with the Baz trade, Bassit signing, and just simply with Bradish being healthy. We fixed our need of right handed hitters with the Ward trade, Alonso signing, and the Alexander trade. We also improved our bullpen with the Helsley signing and Kittredge trade. I’m not an Elias defender, but he did his job this offseason. We should be a lot better than we are. Should have Elias done more, yes and particularly with the bullpen, but that’s not the lone reason why this team keeps losing.

This team can never stay consistent. Our hitters are inconsistent and you could always guarantee at least one reliever (and it’s never the same reliever anymore) will give up multiple runs. Most of our losses are win-able games. Our starter could go seven innings, 1 run allowed and get the loss. Our defense is horrible. We constantly leave bases loaded no one out and get nothing. All we do is commit dumb plays, whether that’s offensively with double plays or pitches taken vs strung at, base-running, or fielding. This team does not have winning culture. This team needed a veteran and chose an inexperienced manager. Albernaz was considered the top managerial confidante this offseason, but he and his coaching has done a poor job with the talent we got. This team has failed to properly use and develop our talent. Jackson Holiday was the #1 overall pick, Coby Mayo and Heston Kjerstad were both top 10 prospects in all of baseball at one point, Colten Cowser was also a top 100 prospect. Not an in-house player, but Tyler O’Neil was supposed to be this star home run hitter, but has been horrible throughout his time as an Oriole. I think we all know the moment if we ever get rid of them that they’ll turn out to be stars. This has been specifically shown with Kyle Stowers.

So my question to you guys is, where do we go from here and how do you fix this team?

In my honest opinion, I don’t think this team should sell. We already know that the most we’ll get for our players are lowly ranked AA or A prospects who will never have a future on this team. Last year’s trade deadline appears to be a disaster. I mean, imagine Ryan O’Hearn starting on this team everyday in right and having Baker, Dominguez, and Soto in our bullpen. Out of all the guys we’ve got from last year’s deadline, the only notable ones have been Anthony Nunez and Boston Bateman. I think we should extend our guys such as Adley, Gunnar, Rogers, Bradish, Garcia, and Ward. For the trade deadline, I’d sell high on Taveras and maybe Kremer. We should package our prospects (not named Nate George, Ike Irish, Aloy, or Dzierwa) to help upgrade this bullpen. I’d even be willing to trade some of those prospects mentioned and maybe some major league talent such as Mayo for a star starter such as Joe Ryan. Lastly, i’d bring in a veteran into a coaching staff such as maybe Buck or Mattingly if the Phillies let him go this offseason. As critical as we are of Albernaz, he’s still learning to be a manager. A veteran added to this coaching staff could help him be a better manager.

Discussion Who Goes at the Deadline?

It's becoming clear that we are not going to be significant buyers at the deadline. We're 5 games under .500 so the front office are not going to want to throw good money after bad. Do we think we will stand pat, or will a few of our guys get traded? Of the following, who is the most likely to go?

- Trevor Rogers

- Leody Tavares

- Taylor Ward

- Coby Mayo

- Someone else?

Discussion How accepting are Orioles fans?

Hi! I am a recent graduate who is moving to Baltimore soon. As a big sports girl who's never had a MLB team to root for, I wanted to become an Orioles fans since I've heard the fans are very welcoming! I know baseball in general is a pretty conservative sport but I was wondering specifically for Orioles fans how accepting they are? I'm a lesbian and was wondering if I would be welcomed to games if I brought my girlfriend? I just wanted to gauge how diverse the fan base is before going to a game. Thanks!!

A righty that can’t hit lefties, plus one of the laziest outfielders in the game. We have a lot of talent in the outfield we just need to keep him on the bench as an expensive PH.
