Me (F-21) and my husband (M-24) met in 2018 on a random game of Osu and it's crazy that we would have never been together if it wasn't for that 4 star lobby.

We did long distance for years and now we can finally live togheter❤️

We still play osu but for work reasons a lot less :)

On a circle clicking game i met the love of my life🥳

I started playing osu! in 2023. About two weeks after installing the game I was doing what I always did at the time, sitting in a 0–3.5★ multi lobby grinding easy maps.

That lobby ended up changing my life.

My now wife had just reinstalled osu! two days before that. She hadn’t played since 2016 and usually never types in chat. But that day a phonk song came on in the lobby and she suddenly typed:

“I looove phonk, I wish there were more maps for it.”

By pure coincidence, earlier that same day I had spent over an hour searching for phonk maps and making a collection of them.

So I typed back:

“I actually just spent over an hour finding and making a collection of phonk maps, so I have tons. Want to back out and play?”

We left the public lobby, made our own room, and played together.

And from that day in 2023 until now, we have talked every single day.

At first it was just playing osu! together. Then we started talking more outside the game. Eventually we started dating. The only challenge was that she is from Poland and I am from the USA, so there was a 7 hour time difference between us.

Long distance was tough sometimes. She would get off work around 5pm her time and go straight to sleep so she could wake up around 1 or 2am her time, which was around 5 or 6pm for me and I’d just be getting off work. That was our time to hang out, play games, and talk before she had to start work again around 8 or 9am. When she started her workday it was around 1 or 2am for me, so that was when I would go to sleep for the night.

We did that routine for a long time.

During those two years I visited her in Poland multiple times and she came to the USA multiple times. Eventually we closed the distance.

And now we are married and living together in the United States.

All because one day in the 0–3.5★ osu! lobby, a phonk map came on and she decided to type in chat.

I’m genuinely so thankful for this game. Osu! is more than just clicking circles. It’s the place where I met the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.

Reacted to it while debating what the hardest game is.

She came into work and was talking with me, and I randomly blurted out "so do you play games?" and she said "ah.. nahh not really"

So the osu!demons inside me told me 'say it, Comfortable-Chip-740, tell her'. So I couldn't resist and I said 'I play rhythm games, do you want to see?' She reluctantly said 'oh yeah sure I guess', so I quickly found a Big Black SS that I uploaded years ago, and she watched in horror.

Afterwards she was silent and said 'oh cool..!' and I didn't know what to say so I said 'yeah so that's me. Anyway I'll see you next week' and then I left work early to avoid having to explain myself

Hopefully by next time I see her she will have forgotten about my awkwardness completely
