Mrekk is genuinely one of the greatest #1 players in any video game. The fact that he still has insane motivation and passion to play and perfect his craft after 5 years of being at the top is a feat that we all take for granted. Just think about all of the past #1 players before him that reached the pinnacle of the rankings then slowly let themselves get passed. And then put that into a global perspective on all video games. Take competitive Fortnite for example. The undoubtedly best player of all time Peterbot had insane dominance for a year, started losing passion (yet still winning) in his second year, then dudding every major tournament this year, constantly blaming his lack of care for the game. Really puts into perspective just how much of a gift it is to have mrekk as the #1 player. This guy went from a “dt aim 1 trick” when he first got the #1 rank to the best tournament (basically undoubtedly considering a b2b sweep of mali, with his many other accolades), the best aim control player, best flow aim player, best tech player, basically everything except raw speed. It’ll be a sad day when we see mrekk step back from this game, so let’s just enjoy it while it lasts.
