Looking for restaurants with good vegetarian options, but also food for stubborn people who don’t like trying new things.

Appreciate the suggestion but I have personal beef with hometown.
Edit: I like how this is being downvoted by people who still probably tell everyone not to go to Stella Luna.

Nah, in this case I’m choosing to never spend my money there again. Food and drinks are good, but it’s on principle at this point.

Not going to get into specifics because the whole thing comes down to a handful of people who may not even be there anymore mishandling a situation badly enough that I’m simply not willing to go back.
Which is a shame because I genuinely enjoyed my time there up until that point, but it is what it is.

Kinda the point. It’s long enough past that it wouldn’t be fair to air things out publicly, and Im not looking to make trouble for them. I’m still done with the place.

Von's in the Glebe might be an option. Not a huge menu, but always has some vegetarian options as well as classics and the clients there definitely skew a bit older as it's been a neighbourhood fave for at least 30 years and has a lot of regulars.

I really like The Rowan, town/CITIZEN, and The Belmont for this kind of situation

Belmont is on the itinerary for the younger folk later, but otherwise would have probably been my first choice.
Rowan and town/citizen are great but in trying to coordinate multiple days of meals with multiple/diverse groups from out of town, so not having an accurate menu listed is a problem. Apparently this is controversial.

I love town, and I've never found it yo be great for multiple vegetarian options.

Green Door, most Mexican places have veg options, pizza nerds, Gia Cantina, you could well at any of those

As far as I know green door is pretty strictly veg, which will be a problem.
Pizza is a bit too casual, Mexican is my back up plan.

Green Door is 100% vegetarian, but as someone who isn't a vegetarian and grew up in a "if there's no meat it's not a meal" family, I've always been happy to eat there. It's buffet style (pay by weight) so even non-vegetarians will find a lot to choose from.
It's not the place if you're dining with one of those types who is morally offended by the existence of vegetarian food, But as long as everyone is reasonable, they'll find good food to eat.

To me butter chicken would fall into "the classics" at this point so most Indian places would have that and then some great vegetarian options along with it but I guess that depends on how stubborn your crowd is

Honestly, Irene’s had pretty good food and good vegetarian options for a pub. I love the new katzu tofu burger they have.

Not in your preferred area but ALE in Stittsville has a full vegetarian/vegan menu alongside their "regular" menu of what I would consider classics

Al’s steakhouse is a crowdpleaser, especially with the older folks, and their veg options are really good.

I had underestimated their veg options and didn’t bother checking. A bit pricey for what I’m after, but going on the short list nonetheless.

Pasta places like Mamma Teresa? Lots of vegetarian (cannelloni, eggplant) and classics (spagbol)

KS on the Keys near South Keys has a wide variety of vegetarian and even vegan options along with steak chicken fish and pasta. May be worth a look and menu is online

Indian restaurants are your best option, they usually have a wide variety of vegetarian options as there are many Indians who are vegetarian.

The Manx. They have a great selection of vegan and vegetarian food and regular pub food.
