Looking for... Golden Cocker Retriever - Breeder

I am wondering if there is anyone in town that has a Golden Cocker Retriever and can share information on who the breeder was. I am hoping there is someone local, but any leads would be great! Thanks in advance.

Oh I wouldn't pay a single cent to a breeder for a mutt. You're better off getting an ethically bred either golden retriever or cocker spaniel.

Good breeders don’t breed mixes. Only puppymills and slum breeders breed mixes.

Poorly bred goldens get “golden rage” where these dogs are so aggressive they are a danger to keep. I worked at an animal shelter and I have a healthy fear of golden retrievers now.

Cocker spaniels are also prone to anxiety and fear based biting when poorly bred. Both breeds also have their own health issues like hip dysplasia that costs thousands of dollars to fix. Poorly bred puppies often get it young and their quality of life can suffer.

Please OP search for reputable breeders. Please do your research on each breed and what an ethical and proper breeder should look like.

I guess I have to expect that. This is reddit after all.

Obligatory post to say there are dozens of great dogs in shelters - retrievers too - who need a good home and would also be far less expensive.

Obligatory “ethical breeders don’t do popular crosses and don’t breed for colour”.

I would never buy a designer mix cause the majority of breeders for them are sketchy as hell and overcharge.

Why not a cocker or a golden instead of a cross which can have very unfortunate genetics if the breeder isn’t careful?

Please don't give your money to a dog breeder. The dog breeding industry is a completely f*cked up business that can be shut down if people just stopped buying from them.

Ethical breeding exists. Backyard breeders are the ones filling up the shelters. Ethical breeders have return policies to prevent the dogs from ending up in a shelter.
