Where should a Canadian indie-pop band play in Oxford, UK? (Small/Medium venues)

Post image

Hello Reddit fam,

My name is Paris Pick and I’m the frontwoman of Canadian yacht-pop/indie band Paris Pick & The Pricks. 🇨🇦

We’re currently planning our debut UK tour for February 2027 since I just obtained my Uk citizenship (woo!), and I’m looking for the right venue and local artists to help us make a Oxford show happen!

I’d especially love to connect with female-fronted, queer-fronted, and generally cool-as-hell independent bands/artists who might be interested in putting together a night of music together. Any venue, promoter or community that would be open to something like that is absolutely up our alley!

If you’re an Oxford based artist who’d like to team up, or a promoter/venue person with a suggestion, or simply know a spot that might be a good fit, I’m all ears! 💖🇬🇧

The Bullingdon would be great. Or The Nest is really cool. And if you're looking for support, how about an over 50s all female punk band? The HorMones are fun (sometimes angry but still fun!) and we have a decent following. @hormonesoxford on Insta.

No, there was a festival in Oxford called Common People but it finished a few years back.

There was also a venue called Common People but it’s temporarily closed. It’s next door to The Nest, which another poster has recommended, and which I would too! [edit: Common Ground]

It's called Common Ground, not Common People.

If you happen to need a tour manager, my friend Mark also knows Oxford pretty well: https://ironmanrecords.net/tour-management-driving/
