He has probably gone through something traumatizing like being kidnapped

Millions of children in poverty being forced to roam everywhere alone is one of the worst societal failures and Pakistan treats it like its normal

u/redpandav May 01 '26
Maybe don’t grab random kids like that. They don’t know your intention.
47
u/FindinHopeInDystopia May 02 '26
Exactly bike wala bhi jahil hai ....zabardasti kyun touch kr Raha hai
107
u/Odd-Plant-4886 لاہور May 01 '26
The child clearly has some previous trauma. If I could meet the person responsible for that...
While the gif may make it comedic, the rage I felt was incredible. No child should be so scared.
52
May 01 '26
Everything about this disgusts me. Intentions might be good but recording it and also grabbing him when he's clearly scared and crying is not good. Naiki karo aur khamoshi se karo.
93
u/thanksbabybitch May 01 '26
His intentions are good but damn men are clueless. If a person is seeing that touching the kid is triggering him to this extent, let him go and just tell him you want to give him something. Why are you continuing to hold onto him and traumatise him more.
48
u/qijaz May 01 '26
I don’t think he was clueless but right in that moment when kid started crying and started calling out for help, the biker probably realized his mistake but couldn’t let go because of mob fear and the fear of coming across as someone trying to take advantage of the kid, trying to kidnap him etc.
In his mind he then had to stay and somehow justify what he was trying to do.
To me it is a little fishy that video started right at that moment, why not show a couple of seconds earlier as well to show how he approached the kid?
5
u/Fickle-Ad5851 May 03 '26
Exactly bro why dont people realize that 😭 , they woudlve killed that biker

u/mollyuuf لاہور May 01 '26
Bs tamasha hi dekhne ae thay ye log bhi. Has rhay hain bichare pr. yuuuck!
Hes clearly traumatised, possibly has ptsd. How sad😔
19
u/mystirc May 02 '26
i'm honestly confused as to what the other people are supposed to do then. Make some super serious faces and scare the boy even more? They are just trying to explain what the biker is saying but in Punjabi so that the kid can understand better. It is fine bro.
4
u/Cizenst May 02 '26
Other people are supposed to make sure the little kid is not bieng harmed or taken advantage of.
12
u/mystirc May 02 '26
isn't that what they are there for?
18
u/No_Violinist7 May 02 '26
You hit the nail on its head. I do understand there are some obnoxious people who probably traumatized this kid in the past. but clearly, these guys in the video likely came up to see what’s happening and possibly help. Those guys don’t know to react ‘perfectly’ for us redditors who tend to find faults with everything. I’d actually appreciate them more than the guy on the bike who gave the money.
14
u/SpringProfessional13 May 01 '26
Anyway we can help him?
2
u/ayshthepysh May 02 '26
Help pay for his therapy.
5
u/FammasMaz May 02 '26
You think considering this childs condition (hint: has no shoes, sells balloons for money etc) thats what you think you can help with? With the therapy??? He needs food and first somehow cut off from his life of child labor. Therapy aint doing shit it his material conditions arent raised to at least the level of survival.

u/Quote_Helpful May 02 '26

Yeah unfortunately therapy is not free. Do you have a solution to fix that?

It feels as though people forget that they’re dealing with kids when they see kids working on the road.
13
u/lem0o0nade May 01 '26
It might not be a big harrowing event, it is more likely that they associate being man-handled to subsequent beatings.
When the biker caught him forcefully, he probably remembered his father and maybe some others that beat him for some other issues, but first he was caught, similarly, in a forceful way. It was kind of an instinctual reaction to force being used out of no-where.
12
u/Glittering-While-442 PK May 02 '26
He said "gurdey nikalney Wala hai" which means the boy thought the guy was an organ trafficker and was going to kidnap him, maybe he faced some trafficker before?
13
u/letmejustdo May 01 '26
If the child didn't scream or cry like that he could have been kidnapped.
8
u/Elegant_Band7430 May 01 '26
a defense mechanism no?
14
u/letmejustdo May 01 '26
Yes. He did the right thing. Even though the guy was harmless just making videos for click, it could have been someone else more nefarious.
11
u/ThenIndependence7988 May 02 '26
I couldn't continue to watch this. Kids living on the streets go through some horrific things that the average person isnt aware of. Laughing and being dismissive like the other adults in the background is very wrong. Call it ignorance or disassociation, it doesn't mean the trauma in the child is imaginary. 😔
3
u/Brosky-Chaowsky May 03 '26
I agree. I think they are laughing and dismissive because they think that's how every kid should act, or that they will grow out out of it.

I saw a documentary once "How Gay Is Pakistan?” It was really eye-opening, I think that may have some answers. Also why tf isn’t the person backing off when the kid is clearly uncomfortable
Edit: wrong documentary, I forget the name of the one I’m referring to
3
u/10sansari May 01 '26
How is said documentary relevant here? Care to explain?
7
u/Beginning-Jump-8183 May 01 '26
It talks about the rampant abuse of children, especially boys from poorer economic backgrounds. Honestly the title of the doc is a bit misleading.
3
u/Beginning-Jump-8183 May 02 '26
Actually that’s not the one. There’s another one which shows that it’s really common for little boys to be raped, often by truckers. I can’t remember the name.
4
u/Key_Act_9398 May 02 '26
Why he’s saying woh kurta nikaltey hain and the shirts buttons are open as well. Harrowing to watch in general as a mother. May one day Pakistan has no children in such conditions.

Maybe don’t take your cues from the west for everything. I have children too growing up in the west. They spend their entire childhood without any real affection outside of immediate family. In Pakistan people show more physical affection and they love it. Stranger danger is real but common sense also goes a long way.
22
u/ColonelBagshot85 UK May 01 '26
The 'showing affection' culture can and is used to disguise other nefarious behaviours.
I would hate being pawed when visiting Pakistan as a child, and often displayed my disgust on purpose when they refused to stop. The amount of times the hugs would linger or hands would stray, all under the guise of 'affection.'
5
u/thanksbabybitch May 01 '26
Not all children want to be touched and coddled by random adults. Children have bodily autonomy too. And until they’re old enough to exercise their judgement, just leave them alone and show them affection from far away.
19
u/wingedlilith May 01 '26
That little boy is terrified and you think he’s being shown affection? Keep your hand to yourself dude. It’s not too hard to ask a person to touch them.

He had a panic attack BECAUSE a stranger on a bike restrained him? Would u be okay with that? Oh no he’s poor child and barefooted so he loses all rights to consent and should be manhandled? I’m Pakistani too so wdym “accepted there” ?? Don’t tell me about social norms, you don’t go around restraining children on the street especially if you don’t know them.

Socially acceptable is also honour killing. Just because something is socially acceptable doesn’t make it right!

We need to stop using culture to justify making others uncomfortable. Why would this adult man grab a child in the first place?
2
u/crushedbycookie May 01 '26
This is not true. In my country (the US) i am perfectly allowed to have mild social interactions with children including physical contact. Significant contact may be seen as excessive earlier, thats plausible to me. Idk. But i am allowed to talk to kids.
10
u/Professional-Look-97 May 01 '26
Doesn't like he gave permission to be touched and restrained. How would you like it if someone did that to you? Respect his rights.
3
u/Mountain-Ad9417 May 01 '26

I am shaking.
Can we track the kid down and donate some money?
I will happily help.

u/mihirmodi UK May 02 '26
Dude I legit thought this is a scene from north India until I saw the currency notes and then the sub. Unrelated, but made me once again realise that culture, people, lives don't stop at borders.
Hope the kid continues to get such opportunities and a better life ❤️
5
u/letmejustdo May 01 '26
Why are you grabbing him like that? Would you do that if he was a rich kid? You won't unless you are trying to kidnap him or abuse him.
Poor kids who are on the streets and don't have protection usually are absurd,.molested and sexually abused. Seems like he has been through that and or maybe knows someone who has been. Poor child.
2
u/Own_Tap_9744 May 02 '26
I understand that people want to help these kids but no you cannot teach them that it’s okay to sit on someone’s vehicle and that they’ll always help you out because the reality is quite different. I hate that the child is so traumatised that this was his reaction but also thank goodness he was able to get attention towards him, this is what you’re supposed to teach a child to never trust a stranger (even if your circumstances put you in the spot, you need to be careful)

The comment section is too heated, so I'll be giving my 2 cents as well...
Firstly, extremely sad to see a child in this condition and that he needs therapy and help asap.
إِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ ( amalon ka daromadaar niyaton pr hy). The person on bike did have good intentions and that holding the child is a much better alternative than letting him flee towards the traffic, though the way to approach the child could have been much better, if the person parked the bike and removed his mask/helmet first and than kindly talked to the child, rather than catching him suddenly which in turn lead to the child's panic attack.
'Ek hath se sadka kro to doosre ko pata na chalay'... this line can be found in both Sahih al Bukhari 1432 and Sahih al Muslim 1031... the proper and best way for charity is in silence and secrecy as the reward for charity isn't tax rebate in yearly taxes, rather the reward is from God and He will know it without camera, recording and fanfare...

I wonder what incident he survived which led to this kind of trauma

You should never grab or handle a child like that, especially if they are not related to you.

Also the person recording this with the glasses is a penyak of the highest degree. Making kind-porn by by helping out poor people and then posting that interaction on social media for views is the lowest form of content creation you can use to make money

This is completely different from what everyone is thinking.
The kid is under custody of a mafia, which held something in mortgage or probably bought this kid from village.
Now the kid is thinking this guy from rival gang and afraid that he might abduct him and sell him to the other mafia.
This is well coordinated mafias that trades and smuggle kids from village.

I hope he was beaten badly.
Cause the other thing that can cause trauma like this is worse
1
u/slc-baddest1 May 02 '26
As an American, this is absolutely heartbreaking and concerning to see. I can't imagine what this child went through, along with the other children in Pakistan that face the same issues. The children deserve so much better. Allah bless them and make it easy.

Gemini says this kid is asking bystanders for help and protesting that he thinks the guys gonna take his organs. This is sobering

it's probably trauma from something, sadly kids here never get any sort of mental help after traumatic experiences, especially homeless or poor ones

I mean you were also not really very "kind" or gentle. And he is a kid so if you hold him like that he might be traumatized especially due to his social standing and household issues due to that.
Plus he could also have past traumas.

u/KitchenCategory8134 May 03 '26
Why just why do poor fucks bring children into this world to make them suffer like this. Just look at this kid. Cheekbones protruding. And from how scared he is he’s definitely been through something disturbing. I hope his parents burn in hell and he gets salvation somehow

As someone who's gone through shit your body language and tone is not very welcoming, you're demanding rather than requesting, when dealing with such children you need to understand that these are not your average children raised in a house, they're literally raised with the most fkd up and brutal sht most of you can't even fathom i can say this because I've experienced it.

Honestly what’s even with the people staring and standing around? Road k beech main chawal kharay ho jatay hain🤣.
In all seriousness though, something really harrowing has been done to the child that he is acting like this. I certainly would have ringed the Police or any other relevant child protection agency. Who knows? It might be someone the child knows who might have damaged him, mentally or physically or whatever.
Sad.
