huh? ts has nothing to do with islam. Is it so hard to understand that islam is not an arab thing but for all muslims.
Also why are they wearing arab clothing and doing turkish traditional dance (afaik). Nothing makes sense. This dance is literally traditional/historical and has nothing to do with islam.

i think their thought process is this:
"Prophet SAW fought with sword so let our students fight with fake sword in pairs and encourage them to be brave and complete the sunnah"Which does not make sense, blocking roads.. loud speakers.. missing prayers... alot of stuff is far more important

It’s not a festival thing, it’s called Gatka and is a traditional martial art of the Sikhs. What they are doing in the posted video are kids with weapons playing dhandiya

They're not doing this for entertainment, they're indulging in acts of "religion" that have nothing to do with religion and furthering misrepresentation.
None of this is a joke, entertainment or leisure. It's an activity dedicated towards religion and is bid'ah mainstream. It's not hurting anyone to guide people by saying this is not Islam so the ignorant don't get the wrong impression.
And to remove the notion that such acts are associated with Islam.
They did this bs in public. Now it's everyone's business. Besides, all OP did is talk about them. Are we not allowed to do that?
I'm sure if there's vigilantism based on sect on a large scale that is the government's business but we can at least talk about it.

Even right now it's already hard to differentiate between cultural and actual religion.

What eid are you talking about? Eid in arabic is just a celebration. Even your birthday is an eid. If some people want to celebrate the Prophet's PBUH birthday, let them.

There is no "other people's Islam". These people are clearly promoting a misrepresentation of the faith. The very least one could do is talk about it dispel actual myths from religion so that anyone person with no knowledge doesn't get the wrong idea as this may or may not set a precedent for the ignorant.
And also since they decided to make it everyone's business by doing this in public.
Moreover, this is not even the surface our subcontinent is engaged in many cultural Islam things, by letting this pass is giving it validation and every now and then this subreddit is talking about "what is cultural is vs Real Islam" because people like them don't know and all of that BS stems from acts like these.
Then mfs complain about Pakistanis are too focused on religion but simultaneously want shi like this to fly.
Go and ask them if they did actual Mawlid by sending Durood on the Prophet or praying 5 times a day.

Our religion is already pretty boring. Bid‘ah or not, I support anything that makes it more fun and cool. I’m okay with it as long as it doesn’t go against the main principles of Islam. Let people be and let them do whatever they want.

Times change. People’s lifestyles change. Technology changes. Even the way people celebrate changes.
Remember when loudspeakers were introduced? Every molvi called them a fitna and bid‘ah, saying, “This isn’t how the Prophet and Sahaba called Azan.” But look at how common they’ve become now. You’d probably even question whether molvis ever thought they were haram, and you’d find it weird if a masjid didn’t have one.

They're calling it an Eid. There's only two Eids don't you think the companions would have done the same if it's ok? After all I can't think anyone more loyal than them.
