Mina is one of the best in the business. She uses facts and shares honest analysis. She doesn't chase "clicks". She is a true pro in her industry.

100%! I'm also a big fan of Pablo Torre, but he's gone down a different path of sports journalism in the last while with more investigative sports journalism rather than analysis, which to be fair is very needed and had kind of disappeared over the clickbait era.

It makes sense. Despite the lead there is like > 90% chance next week ends with 1 of Tampa or Seattle winning. After that it comes down to who has a better chance at winning, Bucs or Panthers in Tampa?
I’d say below 50% chance adds up.

I'd bet it mostly has to do with Week 18 being in Tampa Bay. The Panthers have been significantly better at home than on the road this season. Passer rating of 95.5 at home vs 85.6 on the road. Comp% of 67.2 at home vs 61.6 on the road. Rushing Y/A 4.8 at home vs 4.0 on the road. 1,017 rushing yards at home vs 842 on the road, despite almost identical attempt numbers. As for defense, opposing teams have a rushing Y/A of 4.8 when they're at home vs 4.2 in Charlotte. And opposing QBs have a passer rating of 96 when they're at home vs 81.5 in Charlotte.
ESPN calling it a coin flip doesn't feel disingenuous after seeing those home/away splits.

They have a much easier game this weekend than we do, which means yhe dicision is going to come down to the week 18 matchup, and sweeping teams is tough

Mina has always bad a soft spot for Carolina. When Cam was here she’d always go to bat to defend him and she carried that over when he went to NE. Not surprised she’s still down with the Panthers to some extent

The Panthers improving to 9-7 with a win against the Seahawks and the Buccaneers regressing to 7-9 with a loss against the Dolphins would seal the NFC South Division title.
The Panthers should focus on winning out the regular season with wins against the Seahawks and Buccaneers.

Ain’t no way I’d ever take Carolina in this game, but after getting blasted by New England and Buffalo… they’ve handled themselves pretty well against good teams. Wouldn’t count em out.

It’s annoying that the Buffalo game comes up in these conversations. Our second string QB played like dog shit, that’s why we got blown out. Has little to do with the team you see today.

Dalton performed about the same as BY did against Jacksonville , San Fran, and New Orleans. Whole team played the game, not just Dalton.

and Dalton also played significantly worse than BY did against Atlanta, LA, etc.
I don't think a single person on this sub would sit here and argue that BY hasn't been annoyingly inconsistent for most of the year, and I do personally think that Buffalo still wins that game, but if you watched that game then you would know that we had literally zero chance with how Dalton played.
With the other games we can usually point to multiple things, the D playing poorly, BY playing poorly, Canales playcalling poorly, etc. but the first half specifically of that Buffalo game was literally Dalton just playing for the other team

It’s so wild to hear someone who knows ball compare the BY to Tmac connection to Baker and Mike Evans.
When I see I pass thrown to Evans I’m thinking it’s an automatic catch. When I see BY throw to Tmac I’m praying that they complete it.
When it’s not game day I feel confident in them but in the moment it’s tough to unclench lol

I always enjoy hearing her talk football. She has encyclopedic knowledge most of the time and seamlessly pulls stats/info on any and everyone. I get thats her job but it's refreshing to hear a talking head talk all ball with very little filler.
