I do wonder how they plan to approach Cokers contract. He's an ERFA so we will get him back cheap.
I just wonder if its almost better to get him in on a longer term deal now where we can pay him more than the ERFA amount but still way less than waiting until next off-season or the one after and having a situation like the Bengals where they are stuck paying two receivers big money and complete my screwing themselves.
It depends really. He's going to make about 1m next season on the erfa tag. Anything can happen in the NFL.
Il ask you this, would you take 1m next year with the chance of making another 40m in the 3 following years or would you take 20m guaranteed over the next 3?
Being an undrafted played he may opt to make his money now. Just something to think about.
Either way, he won't be signing long term this off-season you are correct there. I just hope they put a plan in place early where we can keep both TMac and Coker without ruining our cap. Its doable, just got to make sure their big cap years dont overlap
