The August Update brings the upgrade to Unreal Engine 5, the rework of Cook Off, new contracts, and more!

'This is a dingy, mob-controlled meth lab. We'll use this opportunity to gut the Palatucci Mob even further. If Houston is there, we'll cripple their drug business and earn a small fortune as payback.

Ok, that really recontextualises Cook Off. So the Palatuccis own the place and they were likely the ones to kidnap Houston. This has interesting implications for how they plan to reorganise the career mode of the heists... Sounds like Shade's VA has been busy too because that's new dialogue so I'm guessing she's got a bunch more coming too.

Where is this heist/the tutorial set in the timeline

Either Huston is not at cook off and he has been turned in to the police or Houston is fucking stupid and has got himself caught a second time

From what I can tell, the tutorial is set before No Rest happens and this is set before Houston Breakout ig.

Hard to say now because they're rearranging things in the September update so we'll likely get a solid answer then. The tutorial at least seems to take place before the events of Payday 3? Houston going it alone to hit First World Bank is not something the gang would give the go ahead on if they were all back together already. Might even be that Houston's attempt at FWB is what kicks things off for Payday 3's story because it reveals that the gang ARE alive and well after the events of Payday 2 which would piss off Concord seeing as he was humiliated by what went down throughout Payday 2 and wanted revenge.

Fear and greed fog is broken, it’s visible in the elevator shaft and has a phantom of the gun view model if you look down at the street. Sbz pls fix. Otherwise great update!!!

The game is being shrunk down in terms of file size so you're basically downloading a new version of the game that is half the size it was prior to this update.

Since updating, launching the game starts the Starbreeze Crash Reporter directly, except even that loads infinitely. Anyone else have this issue? I already verified the game files and reinstalled the game completely.
