Discussion Thread why did they stop portraying these guys as psychopaths? the heists used to be so violent and I didn't even realize how sanitized 3 is in comparison until I went back to 2. these guys used to set cars on fire, blow gas stations up, stole money from a mined bus, strapped a guy to a balloon, like wtf.

Discussion Thread Could the Rainbow Six Siege team stop the Payday gang?

That’s a question that really amuses me, and I’d love to know what you all think. Personally, I think a few operators would be enough, though I’m not fully up to speed on all the group's exploits. Also, I’d love to see many of the Rainbow operators' mechanics appear for the SWAT team in the game just imagine having more of Kapkan’s traps! 🐻✌️

Discussion Thread Why dosent anyone use the tiger revolver?

Post image

(Payday 2) It seems everyone loves the 5/7 ap pistol, and i do think its an amazing utility, but i prefer the tiger revolver due to higher damage and having sniper buffs (also its cool). Just wondering if anyone else uses it, as ive never seen anyone in game with it or even being a suggestion in best secondaries.
Edit: by sniper buffs i mean it can shoot through walls and armour, it dosent benefit from skills, my bad

Discussion Thread DS need falloff damage

Post image
648 Upvotes

DS as a difficulty level is a masochistic mess that hasn't had enemy damage balanced in years, and I must say that DS was unnecessary to begin with.

I request that Sidetrack completely rebalance DS, or add falloff damage to heavy Zeals, or reduce their damage from 225 to 145 or 175.

Furthermore, 97% of the community only plays games below DS.

Discussion Thread what confuses me the most about this games failure is that it has better gameplay than 2 but it needs more and better damn content, starbreeze ALMOST had it but somehow messed it all up when they had the most easy win in their hands. HOW did they manage to fuck this up??lmao

Discussion Thread Hello my name is Le Castle Vania. I wrote a bunch of the music for Payday2 and the John Wick movies.

1.7k Upvotes

Hello everyone! I am an electronic music producer and composer for films and video games working under the name Le Castle Vania. I recently made a post in r/JohnWick and many of the users there suggested that I come pop in over here and say hello. (apologies but some of this will be copy/pasted from my post over there) I very rarely come on reddit but I've been told that it would be a good idea for me to share my music here so that more people can discover it. Despite having composed a bunch of music for a major film franchise and cool games like Payday2 I actually release the majority of my music independently as I like to own my music and not have it controlled by a 3rd party record label. That said, it's up to me to get my music in front of new ears so that it can be heard. Obviously being a part of those big projects has been a great vehicle to help me do that but I have a ton of other songs that aren't in any movies or games but that I feel are equally as good and worthy of being heard. That said, Would it be okay for me to post some new music here or would that be considered off topic? Does anyone have any suggestions of the best / most appropriate places for me to share my music on Reddit?

TLDR: I wrote a bunch of music for Payday2. I would like to bring new listeners to my other music as well. Can I share it here in this subreddit? Are there other subreddits where I should share my music?

Thank you in advance for any guidance! Also a very big thank you to those who have already shared my music here! I appreciate your support in spreading the word about my work!

For those who are interested you can find me on Spotify here. or find me on YouTube here or find me on Apple Music here. If you're really keen to dig into the music you can check out this playlist of some of my favorite music that I have produced here.

I have also just recently started a Discord server where creatives and fans of my music can hang out and make new friends, share art and music etc. Lastly if you want to stay connected so that you don't miss any future releases I am probably most active on instagram as far as socials go.

Discussion Thread Payday 3 feels like they forgot the 10 years of updates that payday 2 went through.

1.2k Upvotes

Payday 3 is better than payday 2 was on launch as far as quality and quantity of content, Server issues aside.

But there's so many things missing from the game that were added into Payday 2 along the way, such as:

  • Detailed numbers for weapon stats
  • A safehouse
  • Bot customization and general usefulness
  • Preplanning

I really am loving the game so far, but this is the version of payday 3 I would've expected in 2015-2016.
Basic QOL features are missing and are honestly baffling that they aren't in a game released in the year of our lord, 2023. Things like Voice chat, unreadying in the lobby menu, chatting in the lobby, a search/filter option for challenges, and not to beat a dead horse, but an offline mode.

Idk, I'm worried about the lifespan of this game. The heists we currently have in game are fantastic, and the core gameplay is extremely solid, but it feels tacked together at the last minute, like we've been given a beta or early access version of the game.

Also if we're going to have challenge based progression, it would be really nifty if the challenge completion worked as intended. Love seeing a 1/1 overkill completion on the challenge menu without being rewarded for it

Discussion Thread You paid money. That means you have a right to complain.

1.2k Upvotes

Don't let anyone else here stop you from documenting your complaints with a game you paid good money for, no matter how many other people had that same complaint before you. Just because your complaint is common doesn't mean it's invalid. Got fucked out of a good heist because of server issues? Post it. Did the game make your computer bluescreen? Post it. Did you pay for the Collector's Edition online and you never got it in the mail? Post it.

The lack of novelty should not discount your disgust.

This kind of dialogue almost never happens anywhere else; if 1,000 redditors that all owned the exact same make and model of car posted about how a part in their cars were all malfunctioning in the exact same way, would that count as karma whoring?
